Fog light installation.
Okay, I know very little about structural integrity and crap.
I'm wanting to install some fog lights on the Z behind the grill because I do about 3-6 hours of night driving every weekend and I can't see crap when I turn my brights off.
Anyway. Can I drill into the aluminum bumper support to install the lights, or will that screw things up? I've searched and can't come up with anything. Thanks.

I've read about having them installed behind the grill, and haven't heard anyone say it was a waste of time or anything. I have a baby on the way. I can't justify the cost of a new front bumper or having the stock one cut up right now, (though that would be ideal). I'll install them and hope for the best.

Thanks, guys.
Yeah, I've adjusted the headlights up and installed PIAA dims and brights. The headlights aren't giving me enough side vision since I live in an area with a LOT of deer. I've already run the wire into the car and all I have to do now is install the lamps.
I'll be getting it finished tomorrow when I make it to a lift at the shop.
BTW. If these don't work as well as I need, I'll try some of the narrow ones that work in between the slats.

Of coarse they would have to come with a bezel/trim ring or something.

I would really like to do that. I would want some of the larger lights for that. As it is, I'll just keep them behind the grill until I get some cash. I need a new front bumper anyway.

Fog/driving lights installed in outer grill?
Anybody install fog/driving lights into the outer grill area (in front of the black plastic pieces)?
I am considering doing such an installation using some 4" round lights with approximately 2.5" depth. I will likely have to cut out portions of the outer sections of the grill to allow the lights to fit better (don't like "behind the grill" look, even if the lights fit). If the portion of the grill that I cut out does not look right after I am done, I would have to get some kind of mesh over-grill (and possibly cut out round openings for the lights in it).
Anybody attempted this kind of fog/driving light installation on their Z?

I am also goingto install myself the flat type of fog/driveing light and all I don't really see is how to get my wireing through the firewall to my switch. Also Not to sure about getting my lower left side dash off to mount the switch in the blank switch hole. Does any one have any advise or tips they could throw my way?

raising the headlights helps quite a bit.. people think I have my highbeams on, and I only raised it, super tiny bit. I've installed Hella lights on my old 4runner and I think you'll have to drill holes on your bumper. xenon fogs are expensive, but gives you much nicer consistent beam.
