And how did you lower the pressure todd?

the increased pressure was due to the increased volume, i drained about a cup full of oil, (dipstick reading on the "L"..and the problem immediately ceased to exist...

I have another contributing factor to this situation, we put a washer in the oil pump as a shim to increase the spring tension (just like putting a tighter spring in a wastegate to increase base-boost)..this raised the oil pressure across the board...idle is around 15psi instead of the 4-6 psi it was seeing before....this increase in oil pressure, I'm sure contributed to the extreme sensitivity to the overfilling issue
