Im sorry to hear about your engine . But perhaps it was other minor factors prior to your Turbo install that might have led to this.
i also saw that you have the crawford plenum in your most list.. the reflashes that Turbonetics does is for a stock engine (stock plenum, with the single turbo kit, and presumably, the stock exhaust).. changing your exhaust , aka ypipe, catback wont affect your A/F signficantly to put you in any danger.. those reflashes were set conservatively to begin with so that users can change it up a bit. however, the plenum does alter your a/f alot, along with free flowing cats.. perhaps that is what led to your engine failure, if you had not done a CUSTOM reflash.
I've been running my TenchoSquare Reflash on my TT kit for well over 15k miles. a good portion of that was prototyping for the TT kit.. Mr B ditched his eManage kit so he could control everything via ECU, and there's even Yakamon in his built VQ with modified Greddy TT on the G35c pushing well over 550rwhp.. and all he had is the reflash too. Plus countless Turbonetics single turbo kits running stock reflash.
there's alot of variables that leads to engine failure, however i think since you didnt have the ECU reflashed to accomodate your added plenum (which makes the entire system run leaner), well, that's definately not TN's fault, nor the stock reflash. I highly doubt your JIC exhaust will change your A/F that much since it's just a catback.
best of luck on the rebuild.

just so you know my plenum was on my car when i was running a 10 8 air/fuel ratio, so my plenum didnt do much, it was when i put the catback on that suddenly these problems came up. i havent gone home yet since i work in the keys but tonite im gonna check the boost for wat it peaked at.

Engine failure can occur for a number of reaons. There are dozens of reported cases of engine failure without FI!
While I agree that most of these kits are marketed as safe out of the box, there is no way a manufacturer can account for the variances between engines, the various mods customers may have, how the kit was installed..etc. Quite frankly, many of the kits on the market are incomplete.
This is why most kits are sold "for off road use only", and it's the customers responsiblity if something goes wrong with the kit. In legal terms, I know its so easy to point the finger and try to assess blame. But honestly, I dont think its realistic in the high performance aftermarket world, where just about everything we do to our cars is illegal, in one localilty or another. People need to accept the fact that an engine making 400whp is not going to last as long, as one making 240whp....plain and simple...and especially with an FI kit that is not tuned for the specific car its install on. With proper, customer specific tuning, and the appropriate monitoring devices, good engine longevity is always possible...but don't expect 100,000+ miles out of a stock motor.

Well, we all know the extra 2 psi of boost didn't cause it to fail. As far as A/F ratios, I think I read somewhere that Speed Dreams in NM raise the boost up to WELL past the stock TN psi setting, and the ECU just adjusted itself for it. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Crap, I can't seem to find it. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about here? I distinctly remember someone saying that the a/f adjusted itself with added boost on the TN reflash. I guess that only leaves timing, over-revving, or a really really bad tank of gas + boosting hard.
