the brackets are completely different, so theres no way you installed a rev-up kit on a non-revup motor.

I had the whole thing installed. But what I'm talking about is here:

If you look at photo #1, the pulley on the actual s/c needs to be installed the opposite way. I called Vortech, who confirmed the same; he also mentioned that the pulley needs to be removed via impact wrench, which I don't have.

gotcha. you should still be able to break that pulley loose using a strap wrench to hold it steady. your choice though.

Are you able to drive your car to Long Beach? I've taken the cog pulley off my blower plenty of times, just need a cog belt and the right tools....btw, do you have a revup or non-revup?

Any good "DIY" Links for this install? Primarily trying to get together more specific tool's needed list, As I'm driving from my place in Canada to The U.S. to install this in a friends garage this weekend. He has no tools, I need to bring whatever I might need.

I've seen a bunch of threads on the installa nd read the instructions many times, just looking for a tools needed list mainly.

Here's a good guide that I used when I first installed my Vortech:

https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...nks-of-fi.html

And superchargersonline.com has good DIY as well, including tools needed:

Thx dude great links. Neither have a part list that is more specific than the vortech one though. No biggie, the whole thing looks like a cake walk anyways, I'm just trying to over prepare lol.

OK, I got the correct pulley installed onto my blower, thanks to Gearheinz.

Now, another issue (albeit it, minor at this time). But Last night, i installed the 2.87 pulley on my bracket, however even just hand-tightening the bolt, the pulley would NOT turn at all; installing the 3.12 pulley in place of the 2.87 enabled me to freely spin the pulley.

The problem I'm encountering is similar to this:
https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...not-right.html

So, what is the problem? The thread above didn't really cite what needed to be done. I was thinking of having it milled down, but after reading the above thread, i'm not sure i thats the accurate way to go.

Thanks for the help, My350z. Looking forward to joining the FI ranks once I get the above hiccup cured.

OK, wasn't too sure if that was the route you went with. Did you just machine down the flag side of the pulley (closest to the bracket) and (i'm sure i know the answer is yes) but any machine shop can do this? IIRC, you mentioned it needed to be machined down by 0.90", correct?

How much material is that then? And thanks for that diagram.

**EDIT** i'm at work, so i don't have the pulley in front of me, but i'm assuming that the material to be removed just needs to follow the diagram, and down flush with the face of the pulley, correct?

looks like my blower will need a rebuild...not surprising, since i bought it used. I was wondering, has anyone on here ever rebuilt their blower themselves? It isn't an issue of me being cheap; rather, i want to learn to do as much on my car as possible. i've seen a couple DIY threads online via other forums (s2ki, moddedmustangs) and curious if anyone here has done so themselves?

EDIT: Found the following link; curious if anyone else here has gone the DIY route on the rebuild?

Anyone know if Vortech will supply the chargecooler in black? About to order the tuner kit but would prefer a black one and do many of you guys leave the two installation brackets attached to the chargercooler to give it more support on the bottom? Just looks a bit weak with only one side supported, but may have issue with my Zspeed undertray fouling if I leave the install brackets on for support.
