We created this thread because we found to many other posts to be incorrect or not completely accurate by other members. Rather then going through all the prior post and adding our comments we felt it would be best to simply start a new thread in which we could address and answer each question as we see fit.

Horsepower gains with the addition of a water methanol injection system vary and are relative to many other factors such as;

How much boost one is running?
Type supercharger or turbocharger used.
How efficient the intercooler is if equipped?
Base horsepower without water methanol injection.
Type fuel being used.

Have you tested using Alky injection on a N/A setup? if there were benefits, was it only on highly built N/A applications? does it require tuning?

Yes, the only benefit running a water methanol injection system on a NA application is the added octane enhancement it offers. So for applications which are having difficulty running on lower grade fuels such as pump gas and experiencing detonation, water methanol injection can suppress detonation considerably more allowing the user to make more horsepower on pump gas.

How much boost one is running? === >10 psi
Type supercharger or turbocharger used. ===>Vortech s/c
How efficient the intercooler is if equipped? ==> the one that came with the kit.
Base horsepower without water methanol injection.==> 370 hp
Type fuel being used. ==> 93 oct.

There is a nice article in this month's 5.0 Mustang magazine. They added a Stage 2 MAF Snow Performance kit onto a mildly modded Shelby GT500. To summarize the article, they were running 10 psi of boost, leaned the A:F out to 12:1 and picked up 62 HP and 50+ ft-lb to the wheels with a 50/50 mix of water/methanol.

Sure but it's been off set by another fuel. Also alcohol requires nearly 2.5 times the amount to replace one part of gasoline. Collectively you have to ask your self did you gain any gas mileage considering the cost spent to fill both tanks.

As a company we would like to say it does increases gas mileage but the fact is if it does its only marginally better and may not be significant enough to make a real differnce in cost saving for customers. It does do the following....

• Lower air temperatures by 50-250+ degrees

• Reduces cylinder temperatures by 250+ degrees

• Increase your 87-93 pump gas by 8-20+ points

• Increase horsepower safely by 8-15%

• Allows you to safely run more boost and timing

• Longer more stable combustion expansion and progression

• Removes carbon build up from combustion chambers, pistons and valves

• Reduces & helps eliminate damaging engine detonation & pre-ignition

• No need for expensive racing fuel or additives

With conservative tuning we are seeing gains of 25-35 horsepower with the Vortech systems. Injection takes place right after the aftercooler (air-to-water intercooler). Higher horsepower gains have been made with more aggressive tuning.

Are you running the UTEC? If so you can simply use our Stage 1 system and use the UTEC to control the water methanol injection system.

Yeah! well we never did a mid boost or a high boost run, so theres alot still in question??
I guess we'll never know that outcome, but I'll have aleast another 100hp ontop of my last high boost "for sure" and an extra 1k on my RPM. So it will be fun!
