hmm, i doubt these are all build problems. seems like it has to be something else like a restriction or someone screwed something up along the way. hard to tell what it could be though.

5k miles and then a spun bearing? Hmmm... Just curious if you know what the oil temps were.

Sorry to hear - good luck man.

Sorry to see your motor die man. Why would you call it quits? I would sell what you can and pursue OTHER power options besides a built motor w/FI. Just putting a thought out there....

Sorry to hear man.

I'm thinking about ditching the stupid VQ and put a RB26 OR 2JZ in my car. (but hopefully nothing major in mine and just failing oil pump )

You're better off putting in an LS motor. Multiple off the shelf kits for the swap. The RB doesn't have an off the shelf kit. The 2JZ does, but why put those older motors in there? There are some other hurdles to overcome to finish the install, but it's not as difficult as putting in an RB or 2JZ OBDI system. Unless you can swap in older motors legally where you live I wouldn't do it.

and the fact that who says the 2jz or rb26 you get won't fail? You do realize that supras and GTR's have engine failures also, right? Just have your engine built, it's much cheaper than buying a different engine, hvaing that engine built to handle the hp then trying to fit it with all the extra parts into your car.

If it's mechanical and you screw with it, it will eventually fail.

IMO.... i agree all motors can have engine failures...

well got back from houston last night went over with Jt on what was next and well im hoping that we got only a spun bearing and nothing else bent... they will pull the motor out disassemble and send it to the machine shop for a report on what happened ... after that put it back together and break in the motor and if all goes well start enjoying this project car!

only down side is holidays are coming up and i hope the machine shop dont take that much longer ... so i might be looking at another couple of months... ill keep you guys posted on the progress!

heres the last video i got a few days before the issue!

nobody cares about that, at least not on these forums.

and not just turbo, heads, cams, oil squirters into the cylinders. Talk about abrasive.
