i'd be extremely careful. I assume you are just using stock plugs now?

too low of octane, too high of AITs, etc can all cause that as well.

now is when you better trust your tuner 100% becuase if its knocking enough to pull timing in this cold weather, even with 1 step colder plugs, come summer your block might decide it needs a little ventilation.

It tries to pull timing at high rpm's due to knock... the line goes from a nice smooth ramping line to bumpy crap close to redline.
You can see it pulling timing due to det.

Dyno run Doc -
436 HP
365 TQ

Once the new plugs are in, Intec will strap it to the Dyno again to adjust a few things.
Lawrence expects the high end torque to improve with the colder plugs.

even tho this is almost a common issue, i still wonder why no vendor took the initiative to make an aftermarket one that works better!?

It's been running great, zero issues.... Untill yesterday.

I was getting on the freeway, 1st gear, second gear, foot half way into the throttle (regular freeway entry...) and it completely cut out... Like it had no fuel... i let of the gas and it was fine... came back to life.

then today, same thing. At a stop light in town, 1st gear, fine.. second gear acceleration about half way into the gear, and it cut out...

I thought it was the traction control kickin in, so i disabled VTC.. same thing happended....

I'll probably need to bring it into Intec to have lawrence take a look...
I just got finished replacing a motor in my buddies Altima, and have no desire to do my car next...

Other than this issue, i'm happy with teh Vortec and supporting Mods.

Did the dash lights all turn on?

My car did that to me once, turned out to be a bad TB. No biggie.

There is the new one with the invidually replaceable spark plug socket gaskets. http://g35driver.com/forums/vendor-s...-new-post.html

Also, make sure you have a breather on your crankcase - excess pressure can cause leaky valve covers among other problems.

Ummm, no. I'm pretty sure the stock ECU does not pull timing after 5k rpms. It only attempts to detect knock at peak torque and then the window is off. If you are seeing irregular patterns above that, it's something else.

I run 2 step colder NGK iridiums. I think 1 step colder is probably fine too. Never knew Greddy branded their own plugs.
