Dynosty: Haltech 350Z Pro Plug-In - OEM ECU Replacement
I checked in with Haltech on the VQ35HR pro plugin and VQ37... still in progress, but without an ETA. Will post more as it becomes available.
We do offer a custom patch harness option for the VQ35HR to make the Haltech work. Please give us a call to discuss, 502-384-8882

Hal by the way, I'll be calling you Monday to place that order ha.
I have instructed the workshop to bypass the non functioning Haltech evt and look at installing the JWT adjustable cam gears.
Despite repeated calls to the Australian distributor, there is no solution, and comments are that there has been no testing of the evt function.
Same consistent story, almost got it right, I guess sales doesn't support the r&d necessary to fix it or its actually beyond them.
We got it to absolutely sing when the engine was hot, and the resultant tune journey was complete, only to find that once it had cooled down we had to start again as the cam adjusters and the ecu just don't talk to each other.
Not so with the other control unit and the stock unit but they lacked throttle control and some other features of the Haltech. Makes one wonder, wouldn't it be brilliant if the suppliers admitted up front about their products shortcomings and did some research on others success at doing the seemingly impossible.
It seems the long and short of it all is that no one yet produces the high quality product that will answer all the tuning questions.
My next step is to tune a HR z in a similar manner to my revup z with some expectations of ever better results. I read that none of the "experts" can yet deliver a high quality ecu for the task despite marketing their products as having all the bells and whistles.

*sigh* this is the only thing that's keeping me from upgrading from Osiris with my revup...it would be nice to have the failsafes that a standalone gives...

between these EVT issues, and the fact Haltech didnt put the wideband controller built into the unit it self. that one feature missing really hurts the unit imo. instead of needing 2 wb sensors you have to get the add on controller also.
The top notch ems systems have the dual wideband controllers built in, shoot they coulda even made it use the factory widebands.
Again there is NO perfect ems system, there will always be issues/ features missing.
You guys that have Osiris available it sure is a good option...
Im using the harness haltech and its running EVT system alone, my stock ecu does not have evt. So whatever they done on the harness unit is working fine.
glad you said it cuz i was tempted but im going to mess with the AEM infinity instead, built in dual wideband controller FTW. multiple maps FTW list goes on and on, its just the software ill have to totally re learn.

Intake valve timing works on 100%. Revup's exhaust valve timing seems to be hit or miss, and is very hard for us to diagnose and test as there are so few comparatively to standard VQ35DE. We service a number of 350Z/G35's every week, but not that many Revup and even fewer with Haltech. I have gathered some diagnostic information and sent to Haltech, but have not received an ex timing fix at this point.
