I think it's hardwareproblem.

Ive spoke to Adam at haltech, hal at dynosty and ray at czp about this problem but without progress.

I hope they are working on it.
Or else i have to buy an used old platinum pro against my will.

I have got one of these new Haltechs to try and fix my car not starting after build issues.. Had competition clutch s2 initially and was getting cam angle sensor issues and crank position sensor issues so Haltech said i need better quality flywheel as the notches are not being picked up by the sensor.. so i ask around and 2 friends have the same clutch and ecu (gtm exedy) so i buy that.. So in goes the new clutch and 3 new sensors (cams/crank) and SAME issue. Haltech are saying you have to use stock flywheel as the stand alone unit will not tolerate flywheel not being perfect.. ANYONE had the same issues???

Have you scoped and inspected the cam and crank signals at the ECU?

We scoped the cam signals and they are syncing (both sensors replaced)
It is not picking up crank signal, stock sensors and brand new sensor tried

Even tried wiggling the sensor around and spacing it out while it was cranking..

It wont even run on stock ecu but at least it tries to fire, same with stock ecu + Utec (has a friends map on it with same turbo setup but 600cc injectors (i have 800).....

It initially ran on competition clutch and the utec for 2mins, we bled radiator and it rpm just dropped during the processed, stalled and never started since.

Haltech are trying to tell me that only a stock flywheel will work

Check the ground on the main engine harness.. it has to be connected to make the sensors working.. It's located on top of the timingcover..

I had the same problem once.. i connect the ground and then it fired right up

Good luck

Did you check for good power and ground at the sensor?

Any VQ35HR luv yet? Apologies guys I tried looking in the VQ35HR section but didn't see a post concerning the haltech. Can you give an update on the haltech vq35hr support roadmap?

^ I hope you guys get a positive response from Hal because I am really impressed with the functionality for my DE motor. I know Hal has gotten the older Haltech (that keeps the stock ECU for drive by wire) to work on the HR. For the plug in replacement, with a custom harness and symmetric throttle control, I think it should be possible...

I checked in with Haltech on the VQ35HR pro plugin and VQ37... still in progress, but without an ETA. Will post more as it becomes available.

We do offer a custom patch harness option for the VQ35HR to make the Haltech work. Please give us a call to discuss, 502-384-8882

Hal, do you know if the VQ37 unit will be a piggyback, like the earlier version for the DE?
