I thought you left this car for dead! It will be a lot of work to put that puppy back together again

Well after I started taking things apart, it actually does not look as bad as it did when I first saw it after it happened. Painting the car will be nothing. As for the wiring, I'm replacing all that. The motor needs a few things and some cleaning. Other than that, she should be good to go. We started working on the motor, so looking to have it done by the end of the month. So everything should be put back together in December/January time frame. The pics definitely look worse than what it really is.

Well finally was able to get started on getting the car ready for paint. Lots of parts ordered and waiting to be ordered. One step closer to seeing my girl back on the road.

Things left to get or do:
Lines and fittings for pressure lines
Front and rear sway bars w/ endlinks
master to slave line
battery relocation and battery
coat hotside parts and intercooler piping
headlights
custom dual 3" to single 4" back to dual 3" exhaust
adding another fuel pump
Weld RT-S and MT ET's

I think that covers pretty much everything, but I'm sure I'll find something else I need.

Few parts that have came in:

Interior/Engine bay harness coming out:

Brake line being taken out:

Battery area all clean out(Nasty from fire):

ABS/Master area all cleaned out:

Now time to get her ready for paint yet once again.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'll be glad when I can put her back on the road. Hoping to have her at TX2K14 for the dyno day and some fun runs, but we will see. I'd like to link up with any other Z's out there ie: Robert K and Meatbag to name a couple, the more the merrier though.

Tonight I will most likely take everything off that needs coating and send it off to be redone. I'm just glad the damage wasn't as bad as it could have been, plus I wasn't in the car.

Good deal, let me know when you plan to go. I usually go every year to have a little fun.

That looks great Derrel, I'll shoot you an email about this and the cans. Definitely need to tidy up some areas both in the engine bay.

How come you want to relocate the battery into the rear? Are you getting rid of the firewall/compartments?

Well the original reason was, I was going to put a surge tank in the battery location. Fuel situation changed, still a different setup, but wont be using the surge tank there. So actually not sure if I have another valid reason to move it.

Default battery relocation

...valid reason #2-40 lbs off the front and 40 lbs over the rear-might help traction but I doubt it with 1300 WHP!

Mike, How's your Z coming along?

Waiting for the car to be painted is going to be the biggest wait on everyhting that needs to be done, well besides the fuel system. That wont be ready until next year unfortunately. Other than that, I should be making forward progress from now on, on everything else.
