What headers do you have? It is perfectly doable with the engine in the car. Done it many times!

Shorties are even easier, just a pain to get to the bolts holding the header to the cat pipe.

Gotta remove the obstructing piping, drain coolant, remove coolant piping on sides of engine, and you should be good if I remember right.

You got a pretty good memory, already remove intake pipe/coolant pipes. I have test pipes and those were an easy install. I'm just trying to break a couple header bolts loose now.

Have you thought about getting tape to wrap your intake instead of wrapping your exhaust? I'm betting it will be a lot easier and cheaper.

Putting a heat shield in will be far better than any wrap.

Double radiant heat reduces heat transfer dramatically

I don't feel like going into the physics of it but truth

I don't have any shields at the moment to install but a couple beers later and it's out. Any recommendations on which wrap to use?

Finally got it back in and buttoned up. That steering bar/knuckle was a pain to move around. I disconnected it to get the header back up. Did mostly titanium dei wrap till the bottom, then used the regular dei. Wasn't going to buy another pack for just a little bit.

Went to the drag strip last night. Only got 1 run in. I threw on my 300z wheels with mickeys. Slow slow launch.

1.9 60ft
7.61 1/8
97 mph
If you turn it up u can hear it spin going into 3rd. My next run ended in another broken axle. I was revving to 3500, preloaded the axles with e brake, slowly let out on the clutch, when it started to go, I let off clutch completely and mashed the gas. Rear end squated pretty good and snapped passenger axle. I'm still waiting on my DSS pros to get hear. The launch felt great. Seemed like it was going to make a great pass, until it didn't, lol

Were you getting a lot of wheel hop when you snapped your axle? I know some may not be a fan but I love the fireballs on the shifts. Are you no lift shifting or is your tune just set up will a little extra fuel when you lift off?

Nice Run Josh, car hauls......and sounds mean.

Drag Racing is not easy. The more seat time the better you will get.

The way I load the drivetrain is once I get staged, let the clutch out enough so that the motor tries to make the car more forward without moving. This is enough to take the play out of the drivetrain.

What Tire did you get?

What Air pressure?

What type of shocks do you have? Do they have adjustable Dampening and rebound?

What brand of sway bars?

TimRod

once fixed, looks like you should easily pickup 4mph based on your whp and Timrods.

I'm on stance GR pros. Hotchkis sways. I'm using my friends et streets on my 300zx wheels. I think they are 255s. Pressure is around 16-18 psi. I'm getting better. When I first started, I had a hard time getting below 8.0.

Are they ET Streets or ET Street Radials?

Next time out, try putting you sway bars on the softest setting and the same with your shocks if they have adjustable Dampening and rebound.

I really don't know which tires they are. They are like 7 years old, lol. Tread wear is perfect still. I'll adjust for next time out and see how it does.
