amazing work...the build may be slow but so far you have proved wrong a massive lot so called tuning gurus.

the world is still in one piece and the engine did not grenade.

Im trying to piece together a budget rear mount HX35 turbo kit but may just sell the parts and go for an engine swap if I hit 200,000kms by then.

Installed electronic exhaust cut-out (Didn't drive since I still need to run the wire in a more neat fashion, but played with it while my car was jacked up) since

I'm running the stock exhaust.

This will dump before the resonator and the muffler for when I want a some more hp/faster boost

Ran out of welding wire, so I used titanium wrap/muffler weld/mechanics wire. No leaks

Unfortunately the resonator was a little bit in the way. I could have moved it further down the exhaust and leaved the e-cutout where it was, but I didn't want to keep bolting the exhaust back up and down, plus I don't think blocking 10% of the cutout exit will really make a difference.

Will get a video soon of sound once I run the wire to a permanent location

Realized that the flap hits the resonator...Had to pull it off last night and cut a pizza wedge into the side then weld to angle the e-cutout to pass the resonator. It now opens fully and sounds like a car with no muffler/resonator/cat would sound with a turbo.
Game night today, but if I get enough time to run the power wire(before hand) I will take the car out and video it.

I would have just deleted the resonator. The turbo quiets things down at least as much as the resonator would, so it shouldn't end up louder than stock, at least outside of boost.

I didn't want any rasp from the stock exhaust and I hate rasp with a passion nor did I want to test deleting resonator then having to put it back in. I've bolted this exhaust up and down about 5 times in the past week already

Also, this truly is a sleeper now...sounds badass(obnoxious) with the dump

FWIW, he's right, turbos tend to kill rasp pretty well. The impeller basically chops up the sound waves. Any rasp you hear on turbo cars is usually from a wastegate dump.

Recirculate wastegate.

Did we ever figure out how much money you've put into this and how much power you're making? Are you still having engine or exhaust problems?

The full turbo set-up installed originally was about $1800. Then new BOV/wastegate/gaskets. I'm around $2000 now. Exhaust is fine now. Never had engine problems

Power no idea. I'm more interested in 1/4 mile time then what power i'm putting down. I just want to hit 12.9 and I'll be happy

You have slicks? What psi are you running? Did you ever get it professionally tuned?

275 rears(no slicks), .34bar(will go up to .42 if I don't hit 12's) I "professionally" tuned it myself. I used to tune MS on turbo kias, pretty much the same as tuning the UTEC except way easier with a base map to go off of

Slicks should take off .25 off your time. I bet if you upgraded turbos, exhaust and used Osiris and got it professionally tuned and you used slicks you would be at 12.5 no problem.

Turbos? There is only one. No need to upgrade. Exhaust had an open dump e-cutout...can't beat that. AFR are low 12's(about 12.2-3 at WOT in boost..can't really beat that either. I could go richer(high 11's) to be safer, but would probably lose power

Looking at this kit, seeing that you have used the godspeed kit what do you think of this one?

The pipes/clamps/IC etc.. are exactly the same

The only difference with that kit is you're getting a more expensive turbocharger...which is a very easy and accessible part of the kit to swap out at any time

Ya, thats what I was thinking also the most important the wastegate and turbo.. Im not planning for 600whp like everybody thinks when you post something like this. Something around 375 is my goal.

Very nice I'd say. Around there is all I want honestly. Very cool your'e able to do the install and tune by yourself... Makes you appreciate it that much more. Idk how well I could install with half the parts most likely not fitting haha. Especially not able to tune it haha.

Blew a/c line on a 100 mile trip yesterday.(won't drive the car without a/c) I need to take the turbo out and possibly downpipe to repair. I am going to get a longer line and compression fittings to make a custom line completely away from the exhaust
