Not so cheap kit anymore ah?

 

My labor is free. I just need to see which pipe it is(there are two very close to the exhaust. then I'm going to install a 12" or 24" compression fitting to rubber hose line fix in it's place to get it away form the exhaust.

The original TN kit came with a new line which costs $170+ship. THis line will cost me less than $60 and I have a 20lb cylinder of r134a in my garage anyways

 

you should put a reflective "silver" sleeve over the line before you install it.

Can get these readily from Summit or Jegs.

 

that silver sleeve is just for reflecting radiant heat. It offers zero protection from burn through.

You want to use fire braid.

 

Fire braid max temp 500 degrees. I had header wrap rated at 1800 direct degrees. Anyways...super lazy to take the turbo and piping out. Not sure when I'll get to it and refuse to drive without a/c

 

Unfortunately you're still going to pop the lines, eventually. Mine had triple heat wrap plus silicone and multiple lines still cracked. Ended up having to replace just about every line (one was a $250 COST oem hard line) when I finally removed the POS TN kit.

 

These compression line fix cane come in custom sizes. I can re route them anywhere to get them away form the exhaust.

TN kit?! This is GODSPEED!!!(same piping)

 

Main point is to avoid AC line contact with the up pipe / DP.

IMHO AC line absolutely must to be long enough to avoid any Hot pipe contact.
Then the main issue becomes primarily a reflective concern if the line is long engough and prperly routed and tied away.

Been using a reflective sleeve on my MTM setup a few years now, no signs of any degradation.

 

Got a new job paying double what I made plus overtime and now have the money for the turbonetics/godspeed kit I posted awhile back. How many miles have you had yours on the car? Sorry for the confusing grammar been up for 48+ hrs at hospital😕 plan on doing the install myself and help from my friend.

less than 500 miles. I barely drive the car anyways. Pulling turbo out tomorrow to check which a/c line went

 

Took turbo out. Rubber hose a/c running along side framerail burned through. Cut, got pex connectors and replaced with a longer 300psi air line. Filled up and a/c works fine, but line expanded.

Ordered correct a/c line to withstand pressure. Have to wait for it to come in to replace.

Also switching spring from 5psi to 6 20% more boost GODSPEED FTW!! I estimate around 330whp?? With open dump exhuast. Going off other TN builds with roughly 17hp per psi

Turbo shaft is still tight.

 

Thats my worry my z is my daily and i put down quite a few miles. So basically what Im thinking the kit im looking at is the cheap godspeed intercooler setup and misc. parts and then more quality turbo, wastegate, and upgraded Bov. Running 7 or 8 psi should be a good place to start. My biggest worry is all the parts not lining up correctly honestly. Or mani or piping cracking but that could always be replaced pretty easily. Still heartset on this kit for a starting platform.

 

If you're going to buy a godspeed kit and replace everything but the piping then you might as well buy a used kit or a used S/C because you're going to end up spending the same amount. The godspeed turbo I received was actually balanced, which when I installed thought it was not.
The only thing I replaced was the wastegate since the godspeed wastegate can not use the standard 38mm tial springs and the Emusa can

 

The godspeed kit is 1800. The turbonetics kit is 5000. The godspeed/turbonetics kit on eBay is 2400. It comes with everything the godspeed kit does except the turbo,bov and wastegate are authentic urbonetics parts. So basically id be paying 2500 less for the godspeed intercooler setup.

 

But ofcourse id still har to get injectors fuel pump and something to tune on and gauges and what not. So all said and done about 3500-4000.

 

I am not running a boost gauge and an A/Fr gauge isn't even necessary with a utec/laptop. I am also using stock fuel pump and only installed cheap 550cc injectors

 

Turbo= $2400
Injectors= $400
Fuel Pump= $100
Utec= $700 or cheaper if used.
Dyno tuning= $500
Quality time fabricating the kit to work= Priceless

around 4000 total... and it should be a solid start.

So close to ordering the kit, still doing lots more researching though haha

 

I'm in for less than $2200. I had a full driveable build for $1800 when I first started. I haven't seen someone do a build that inexpensive on a 350z yet

 

330 seems like a quite fine daily number. i feel like after 400 on the z and gs, they just get a bit too rowdy. but thats just me.
