^ Sorry to hear of your troubles. GTX turbos are not cheap and Precision has some good performing snails, but reliability/QC is what sets the two companies apart. Be thankful the turbo is easy to get to. Imagine if you had to drop your motor like you need to for most twin kits for easy access to the turbos...

eww, 500tq at 3200 rpms, who would want a torque curve like that?!

what has been done to that g37 exhaust to make it flow so good before cutouts?

The twin inlets have been expanded to 3" into the main body - that's it. It's a perforated pipe and a huge shell, air cools so I suspect the stock diameter outlets aren't obstructing too much... Also have 4 cats (2 each side) before the muffler (100 cell in series with a 200 cell), so not sure it's the muffler that's the choke point anyway.

Did they need to modify it much? I like the stock exhaust sound and look but my g35 exhaust is way restrictive so I'm running cutouts. I would like to run 600hp without the cutouts but I also don't feel like dropping another 1200$ on aftermarket exhaust.

Keep in mind the stock G37 exhaust has dual inlets stock. It appears to be much less restrictive than the stock G35 coupe exhaust. Not sure how much work it was - cost a couple hundred bucks...

Are you refering to the rear muffler?

Oh yep, just the muffler on the G37 coupe. Sorry for any confusion. Got mine from someone that had theirs replaced by dealer due to rattling TSB - so was brand new for I think $150.

Pic from ebay... The hangers needed to be modified also.

Lol.... I'm surprised you didn't see that post on their page until just the other day! Pretty sure I saw that a couple days after they posted it up there... Looks great, I hope you are enjoying her and getting that funny shifting thing down pat!

I'll only be using the rear of any aftermarket exhaust so paying full price for only a small portion is a waste of money and I really hate the sound of every aftermarket for our cars except the borla (too restrictive, already had it) and the evo TT. I just wanted to be lazy and not have to open my cutouts when I wanted to boost but flipping a switch is cheaper than 1200$ plus my time modifying it.

Sweet, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Mine is custom back to the muffler as well so I can just remake exhaust to fit. Those inlets are 2.5" and you stretched them to 3"?

Cut off and completely removed, then 3" holes cut and new inlets with vbands welded on. There is no restriction going in to the muffler. The stock outlets and tips were left as is.

Good deal. How does it sound? I like my stock sound. I'll start looking for one.

I heard/watched him go down the strip at Zdayz and it was quiet compared to any car there. I was so surprised to be honest with you.

Great, I like the stock sound. I have the sleeper package going right now with mine and want to keep it that way.

It sounds as quiet as it has ever been. I am finally happy with it.

I've tried evoTT, fast intentions 2.5 td, motordyne TDX v1 and v2, custom variant with MD TDX v2 plus extra muffler, etc. All were too loud for me.

It would be too loud for you guys, but I got the idea from Boosted Performance to get a 5x11x22 Magnaflow. Gonna have that fabbed up next week hopefully. Getting the exhaust right on this car has been the hardest thing, haha.

It was confusing to watch at the airstrip. It moves out really fast, but is practically silent. The only thing you hear is twin turbos screaming like a jet engine sucking in air.

moves out really fast must be relative to the GTR you are racing
