How did you come up with the idea to use a G37 muffler? I'm in for a sound clip. Speaking of clips I am surprised that I haven't seen a video of your new setup at work from ZDayZ

Actually here is a vid at the strip... He starts his runs at 9:20 and his second run at 10:10. The second run was great and he kept up with that GTR... Give him a bit more practice with that new manual tranny and I think he would have taken that race. The thing with that GTR tranny is it rolls thru the gears so fast it's hard to keep up with the shifts.

Been busy working, very little time to tweak the car. Finally got my Clifford alarm wired in after sitting on my shelf for a year. Suspension controllable with the remote! Will make a vid as soon as I work out my little air tank leaks. Holding 200 psi of compressed air is apparently not easy.

Those runs were some of my first. First run, I started in 3rd, had VDC on, and was short shifting. 2nd run at least I started in boost, still VDC on and short shifting (in case I made a mistake). The blue GTR is fast though - torque curve similar to mine in the lower rpm range, then drops off. If I ran to redline, my car would win... I was catching him in 4th and ran out of room on the 2nd run. The car has so much more to give. Lots of practice needed.

Do you know what work the blue GTR have done? Fast and sounded great...

Sharif indicated that it was a max'd out stock turbo 2013 gtr. Whatever that entails...

Long time no update here. I had Dynosty remove the exhaust cut outs this year thinking they were not needed as the muffler was not restrictive. Once eliminated the car lost close to 100 whp. I think that was the culprit. They probably always leaked. Had the guys thinking something was wrong with the turbos and/or engine and went through extensive diagnostics. The muffler even modified as it is I guess is actually quite restrictive. 2.5" outlets just are not good enough. Removed the muffler and car made over 800 whp DJ. More to come...

So Jeff if you're still on this site, modifying a stock G37 muffler just at the inlet side is not good enough to flow big power.

EDIT: By the way, when I ran at ZdayZ in the video up there, I was running blank off plates. Power was down -100. Not making excuses of course

RE11 305/30/19

...at near 0 camber using SPL midlinks. Best all around tire I have found (have not tried Mich PSS yet). That along with a gradual ramp up of boost in gears 3 and up provides decent traction. WG pressure for gears 1-2.

Thanks, having an issue with a coil pack. Dynosty will replace and finish the tuning. I finally went ahead and submitted a prelim dynograph for the top 50 list. First post didn't get updated by the mod though.

Thank you.

The r888 are sticky for awhile. At their peak they are a good bit stickier than the RE-11. I found that the r888 lose their grip quickly as they age and wear out a good bit faster than the RE-11. RE-11 is 80-90% of R888 dry traction but consistent, quiet, and smooth.

Just the type of feedback I was looking and expecting from you, thanks Raj

^ Never tried those but XKR had to as he had 20" wheels and they did not seem to grip too well for him (I'd say they are in the same class as the RE-11s and may be an alternative if the size you want in the RE-11s is not available).

Following RCdash's recommendation (before the discovery of the power loss LOL) I recently hacked a g37 muffler onto the axle back portion of my APS 3" dual. Ended up losing around 40whp (450whp to 410 at 8.5psi). but I didn't enlarge the inlet pipes, since by just peeking into muffler you can see it's 2.5" internally... so enlarging the input is relatively pointless unless you gut the whole muffler. To work around this I installed V-bands so I could throw the APS mufflers back on easily if I have a track day.

Sorry to have misled anyone. I posted as soon as I confirmed the muffler is indeed restrictive. There is internal baffling but no fiberglass or other flow restriction other than piping, which I believe is 2.25" for the outlets. I plan to add another 2.25" pair and merge to 3" outlet with new tips. We'll see how it goes.
