Default Budget Single Turbo Build! High mileage

Inspired by iiDeadeyeii's build

Hey guys, if any of you have seen my last thread about my custom twin turbo build I have sold the parts for profit and I am now starting an easier cheaper single turbo build. I know what I am getting in to, I know what I have read. I already purchased the parts and I am following through with it so keep the stupid, pointless hateful posts out. I guess you're thinking by now what is this guy doing, high mileage and a budget FI build? Either way the community will learn something from this as there are not many (If any) threads about what I am going to do. So be thankful if anything!!!

P.S. Yes I am expecting an engine rebuild

Test Car

Year- 2004
Engine- VQ35DE
Trim- Enthusiast hatchback
Mileage- 123,000
Mods- Nismo Catback, Nismo CAI, test pipes (CAI, test pipes wont be utilized)

Platform:

Godspeed Turbo kit (Intercooler, IC piping, all exhaust components, lines)
This kit mocks the turbonetics kit*

Turbo:
Turbonetics 60-1 T3 Turbo

Wastegate:
Turbonetics Wastegate w/ 7 psi spring. If anything I will go with a lower spring.

Blow off Valve:
Knock off ebay blow off valve

Injectors: R35 570cc injectors

Fuel Pump: Walbro

Uprev Dyno Tune: Not sure where I will get the tuning done yet.

Goal: 350+whp, and how long this setup will last with last with my mileage.

Parts Cost: $2500

Total Cost Including Dyno tune: $3,000

Unlike my last thread I am going to actually keep this one updated. I will show all issues/fitment problem I have with this kit. Additional parts I will likely have to buy. I will be deleting the AC pump.

Post and Questions, comments, tips anything! I will be starting the build as soon as all the parts come in!

This turbo kit is a front mount kit, correct? (meaning the turbo is near the headlight)

Yes it's just a Knock off type rs just wanted to give a clearer picture. It will likely sound like crap so I will probably change it eventually haha. I hope I have the same success you are

Yes it's a front mount. Turbo goes right behind driver headlight. The piping is the exact same as turbonetics just obviously made by godspeed.

Doesn't say what you're tuning with. Also, I'm at 7psi and didn't need a aftermarket fuel pump.

Really, I thought I may not need a fuel pump. Does anyone know off hand what the stock fuel pumps are good for? I have seen stock injectors hit about 340whp before cutting out. I will be tuning with uprev by a professional tuner as I don't want to mess that up. As far as getting the oil to the turbo what do you think the best bet is? Also since you do your own tuning, If I tune the set up in the winter where theres going to be 60 degree temp variation am I going to have to get it retuned when the high temps come back in summer?

Also, Im almost certain the I will be getting the tuning done by TPG. The tune + the Uprev license cost is $500. Very reputable shop around here and a better price than the rest.

I used an oil filter sandwich plate, but I think the kit should come with an adapter to do it right off the oil pressure gauge sensor.

oh wow, that would be cool if it did. I was expecting they would just throw in an oil line and tell me to figure it out myself.

Just ordered the r35 injectors for $150 shipped. That takes $50 off the cost, thought they'd be more.

Parts are in! Everything looks great. Turbo is beautiful looking with a nice chrome like polish. I was surprised with how great everything looks to be honest. The only problem I have is that the bimbo that shipped it shipped it all in a giant box with everything in smaller boxes inside of the big box. But he left all the coupler and t clamps out of a box and they were just getting banged around by the other boxes and a clamp is already broken. no big deal though. I am still waiting on the R35 injectors to get here. Still pumped on the deal I got for those $150 shipped and they were off a 2014 so in reality they probably have 5k miles on them haha

Ok I went through all the parts and everything made sense except for one thing and its a large black hollow cylinder with 2 hose feeds at the top. It looks like something goes inside of it? The kit comes without directions or a part list. I am almost positive it holds something inside of it because there are 2 screws on the outside that can be tightened to hold it in place. Hopefully I cant start up the exhaust work tonight after school and work. Already have the bumper off and all the undercarriage, wheel wells, ect.

People use them all the time. They are 570cc and since they're nissan oem they are the same connections and drop right in. If you're interested check for some ebay auctions and you can get a set very cheap
