How-To Repair Stuck / Broken Window Motor ...
What a fantastic job, & a job well dim. Its this sort of things i love about these types of forums. it makes life so much easier and moreover cheaper. Brilliant photography and notes to go with them. Give yourself a pat on the back. These posts will become more handy as the cars get older. I've had a new drivers side motor and i don't know why but its moves the glass so quickly i'm thinking the other motor is om its way out,
A little off subject but if anyone is using this for how to on door panel removal Fyi my 06 is a little different. the arm rest pad has a screw in it from the back side of the door panel. At least on my passenger door, weorking on it at the moment. It appears its not needed to remove the pad before removing door panel from door, I did and broke a boss that the screw goes into. Super glue works wonders. Anyway just thought I would pass this along. Sorry if its aready been coverd.
Bought a 2007 350z Enth last month, driver window stopped working a few days after I bought it, following your instructions I cleaned the window motor, it was very gummed up, we'll see how long it lasts. Thank you for your awesome instructions and pictures.
EDIT:
Well crap...it lasted a few days, then started getting stuck again. I ordered a new motor. If your thinking of cleaning your existing motor dont bother, just get a new motor.

Hi guys;
Major thanks to OP'r, my question is this my DS window will suddenly drop a quarter of the way after I use the window and close it. I have to hold the switch for at least 15 secs for it to stay closed. Startled me the first time it happened almost went off the road. Its almost spring time and I'm getting ready to put it back on the road I'm wondering is this just a sensor or am I going to have to replace the motor?

So i was doing some reading on this post and i see you do the reset if it works or if its getting shady and kinda not working. So my window wont really go up or down if its hot outside but will work sometimes when its cold out. If its hot i can press down on the window and hold the button and it will start to go down and i can usually get it back up. Think i need a new motor still or would the reset work maybe???

UPDATES: The passenger side motor is still working strong. A couple of days ago I got around to replacing the failed driver's side motor. Is was much more simple this time around. Took me less than 2 hours to complete the task. The window didn't move at first, so I paniced for a second. Then I remembered to do the reset procedure and it began working fine after that.
The Cardone rebuilt motor from O'Reilly Autoparts is the best place to purchase yours. It is the only store that offers a lifetime warranty...

So I'm digging through this thread and deciding whether or not it's something I can clean or just have to replace, however I'm not sure what exactly to replace. On hot sunny days (I live in FL) the drivers side window will not roll up or down. I have to hold the button, bang the door panel, and it will go down enough to where I can push the rest down by hand. On other days, it will roll down slowly, however I may have to bang it again to get it back up. If I shut the door, it will be maybe 1/4 of an inch lower than its supposed to be, which I see a lot of you guys have that issue with, too.
Just need some other advice. If the motor was shot, it wouldn't roll down at all, so I don't know if cleaning it would help or if I need to go through wiring shortages (if any) or replace a regulator, etc. Any help is good, thanks!
