How-To Repair Stuck / Broken Window Motor ...
My passenger side finally crapped out on me, and without warning, after being fine for over a decade so I'll have to do this sometime in the near future.
On a side note, my AutoZone motor on the driver's side's been without any problems since being installed 3-4 years ago.

Updates. Mine are still working fine. Although I believe my driver's side switch is starting to malfunction. Sometimes when I click it to auto raise or lower, it'll start then stop. I have to engage it a 2nd time for it to work..
I rebuilt mine with new brushed and it worked for about a week. Now when it goes up and down it grinds and gets stuck (either all the way up or all the way down). I am wondering if perhaps the gears inside are fubar and I should outright just get one at advance auto parts...
Also, the video of my fix.

It sounds like the drive gear that the motor shaft links up with may be stripped out. There's also the possibility that the brushes you used are too loose and wobbling on the commutator, this could affect timing of the motor. But only 1 week of use is really short. I've had mine up and running strong for around a year now. No problems at all.

My passenger side window crapped out on me about 2 months ago and I'll be doing mine tomorrow.
Side note, anyone know what happened to the original DIY thread before this?

If anyone can please help i would greatly appreciate it. Heres my problem...As soon as I turn off my car, both my windows roll down at the same time and I can't roll them up using the key in the door or from the inside.Windows work perfectly when the car is on but as soon as i turn it off the windows roll down all the way down and i have no control over them. I have tried the reset procedure but it does nothing.

SMKAHOE,
First, you might want to make a new thread, since your window motors appear to be working just fine.
Second, if the reset procedure isn't fixing this issue, then there might be a short or problem with your window control switch module located within the driver's door.
Another possibility, do you have an aftermarket alarm system installed?
How long has this issue been going on? Do the windows roll down completely or only part of the way?

I find it strange, that I Unflashed my car today with Uprev and then I started having this issue with the window.
I got it to go back up once playing with it a bit, after the first time It got stuck, then later out of habit hit the auto switch and down it stayed for the night.
Could it be a fuse or short or something due to electrical surge from Uprev process?
