Something might be interfering with the connection of the microchip inside the key housing... that is my guess.

As you are aware, the clutch must be dis-engaged before the starter withh launch. Check to see that the clutch switch is activated properly.

a nissan engineer said they had trouble with speed pass interfering with the chip in the key. make sure if you have a speed pass you hold it in your hand, away from the ignition when you start.

Since the clutch must be depressed to start the car, the clutch linkage must have a switch somewhere detecting that the clutch is depressed, closing the starting circuit.

Do you have any aftermarket alarm system installed?

I do and the same thing happended to me. I tried all 3 keys, but it just wouldn't start.....all guages lit up but nothing when turning the key to start the engine.

Had it towed into the dealerships and it turns out that the after-market alarm wiring to the starter relay wasn't delivering the necessary volts.

Turns out it was just one of the alarm's wire connection that needed to be re-done.

That is just the steering lock.. just something to stop theft... Try to wiggle the wheel left and right while trying to turn the key and you should unlock the steering wheel..... for more info check you owners manual
