Two weeks ago my 04 enthusiast started up just fine and after driving 15 minutes on the highway the engine lost power for 3 seconds (RPMs wouldn't go up or down when I pushed in on the gas) and then I regained power and both my VDC and SLIP light came on. I took the next exit and turned my car off, waited 5 minutes hoping the lights wouldn't be on. When I did it took about 4 seconds to start and the lights still remained on. I got home and waited 3 hours to try again and it started up just fine???? Now this keeps happening every time I drive for about 10-15 minutes. Can someone please chime in!

 

Is your steering wheel straight? Do you need or have you recently had an alignment? How about the battery? Has it been disconnected recently for any reason? Symptoms sound like your steering angle sensor needs to be recalibrated.

 

Kody, Get the codes.

You are having problems with your camshaft and/or crankshaft sensors. If you get the codes, you will know which banks are problematic.

 

I had my alignment done 6 months ago and again last week. I'm on Stance GR my toe, camber and caster are all on point.
I also replaced my battery about 4 months and had it checked already.

 

I got the codes today and found out I'm throwing 7 (kill me) p1148, 1168, 0340, 0037, 0057, 1031, 1051

 

Check fuse #15.

 

That many codes appear as though something might have come unplugged. Have you done anything inside the center console recently?

 

Sure enough it was my camshaft position sensors, I replaced the straight passengers side and the angled drivers side. Only took about an hour for both and I've driven the car hard with no problems

That explains the P0340, but none of those other codes would be set by a cam sensor. They must have been past codes that were never cleared. Fuse 15 is for the O2 sensors and wouldn't have caused all of those other codes. It must have been removed or replaced at some point.

 

^^ Ahhh yes... the infamous and notorious O2 sensor codes...

I've owned and serviced my 350z for 12 years now. Over the years I've learned how to interpret the code readout. Sometimes a combination of codes leads you to a solution.
