Default Any builds for non-revup?

Are there any serious non-Revup builds you guys have seen? I'd go FI, but those guys in the FI section are a bunch of Eff-heads, and I don't want to become an Eff-head.

For starters, I do have experience in fabrication and welding, I'm not some noob who just slings crap parts in their car hoping that it will work. I do a lot of my research based on what I see on these forums, but thus far the NA section has a lot of Revup info, but not an extensive non-Revup info.

Forgive my ignorance but is the reason for this because the Revup is that much more of a superior engine? The VQ35DE is pretty well built from the factory, aside from the obvious things like the intake plenum and restrictive headers.

Lets say I went ***** out and bought everything under the sun that was NA e.g. Headers, Plenum, Pistons (bored, ported, polished, etc), cams, exhaust, ECU, etc. etc. etc. What could I expect in returns for gains? Ideally I am looking for 350whp and 350ft/lbs, but as I've read that might be quite the undertaking.

I'm not looking for a buy this list, more like, what are you guys' experience with the NA builds, and is it even possible to push the engine that far staying NA?

I realize that you are all probably thinking to yourself, "Oh God, not another Noob." This is not the case, I am a crew chief to my father's racing team, and we run the E46GTR and pushed it to 480whp and 500ft/lbs. Of course, there is room for improvement, but as a endro car it is near perfect. That is to say, when we were down at Thunderhill the other year, the engine did develop a coolant leak and at hour 20 the car went off track, and (we think) hit a bump that unseated the coolant line, which drained everything out of the car in about 5 seconds, resulting in a cracked block, busted pistons, a dime sized hole in the one of the piston walls, and pretty much screwed us good for the rest of the race.

There is a build thread on an almost 350hp n/a build here. You're talking double the money of an FI build.

These engines are not good engines for NA builds if you expect good returns. Very expensive with very little gains. Most NA builds of similar cost to an FI build are barely breaking 300hp at the wheels.

and MOST big builds in the FI forum are non-rev because they have the most aftermarket. rev's just change the plenum slightly, add adjustable exhaust cam and that's about it. The limiter is also raised due to the changes.

If you think the guys in the FI forum are "eff heads" you aren't going to get much help anywhere on the forums because most of the guys in the FI forum are owners and fabricators in the 350z market. So you are basically calling all the main guys in FI around the nation that build all those fancy parts for your car "eff heads". Good luck with that. I'd suggest a new forum or stop asking stupid questions if you don't want stupid answers.

wow, so i give you ANOTHER honest answer about 350hp being a wildly high goal and you just do nothing but continue to disrespect contributing members.

I even told you that there was a good thread on it even though i didn't have the link. Geez, spoon feed you and answer your questions and all you do is get angry at people on the forums. Maybe it's time for you to move along.

Unless your building for a particular race class that you can not run FI, don't bother.
