Getting my first tune need help.
350z 2006 DE
Current Mods: agency power cat back exhaust.
Post tune mods: agency power exhaust, Resonated y pipe, Resonated berk test pipes, mishimoto short ram intake.
so my problem is the tuner is 30 miles away from me basically 1 hour from me I wanted to install my y pipe and resonated test pipes before I drive over there because I don’t wana pay for someone to install them for me and I was going to install the short ram intake when I get to the tuner. So my question is since my car is going to be driving lean is it safe to drive that far with the test pipes and if it is how fast should I drive the only reason I want to ask is because the guy that is going to be tunning my car said it is ok to drive the car just not full throttle. Is it actually safe to drive my car like that if so how fast can I go while driving that far please let me know soon thank you all.

You won't be running lean enough to do damage. You can safely operate the vehicle with these mods (including the intake), you just won't be able to properly net the power from them until the tune is completed. Still, I would not go WOT until after the tune, but normal driving/highway speeds/acceleration will be just fine.

Youre good to install the items mentioned and drive the car.
I would agree with the tuner and short-shift, try to stay under 3500-4000rpms. Speed is 'almost' irrelevant but if you stay under 75mph in 6th gear, under 50% to 75% throttle you'll be fine.
The DE engine in a NA condition is relatively hard to engine-knock.

None of this is even a concern. You are doing a few time honored tweaks that have been done to cars since well before “ECU parameter modifications” (“tuning”) was ever a thing.
Changing out your cats and increasing your intake volume will not lean the car out enough to matter since the ECU will sense changes and adjust accordingly for such breathing changes. (The whole point behind the symphony of sensors under the hood.)
The other points made by others are spot on. Make all anticipated modifications BEFORE tuning. Waste of time and money otherwise.

You don't mention how many miles are on this Z, but certainly if mileage is close to 100K, you might want to consider doing a major service (including fresh NGK plugs, belts, fluids, etc.) that are detailed in your owners manual.

To piggyback on to what DK mentioned - clean your Mass Air Flow Sensor ($6 can of cleaner & youtube the procedure).
If you have some extra funds ($100 or so) look into a plenum spacer.
Are you tuning with Uprev?
has anyone thanked the OP for not being a typical my350z-noob-tard?

But yes, you'll be fine doing ALL the mods and services prior. The whole point of tuning is to adjust/optimize for the new breathing afforded by intake/exhaust mods.
* I kid.... don't think g'ma ever got behind the wheel of that fine 1922 Model Mister T in g'pa's garage.
