Hal one more question. I see the trace line in your map. Are you doing something special to activate this? I can see it under the options menu but it does not appear either when I am connected to the vehicle neither when I make data logging playback.

Finally, in the manual of the 350Z harness reads that the factory O2 widebands are not supported. Is this true? I am running the vehicle with O2 control under vacuum based on factory widebands and car looks OK. I am comparing these values with the PLX aftermarket wideband and look quite the same. Only difference is while boosting, where aftermarket reads 11, and factory is on 12s.

Press 't' to turn map trace on and off.

Factory widebands... depend on your harness. If they are reading, it sounds like you have the proper one. My advise is run your PLX output into the Haltech in place of the OEM widebands. This way you can tune and log in boost also.

So I am finally gettin around to splicing in my AIT.

I have an '03.5 G35 and none of my wiring colors match what you have in your link. I only have a 2003 350z FSM but it doesnt match up to my color order either.

Maybe I am looking on the wrong page? I have those color wires mentioned in the link but they are not pin 5 and 6

heres a pic of my MAF

any idea???

Str8dum1, the harness you have is old - which does not create any problems but you will need some assistance locating the wires that are now found in the breakout connectors. Give me a ring if you need help.

^ I don't have 03 g35 fsm on me, but 04 g35 fsm shows air temp on maf pins 5-6, colors yellow/green and blue. This matches your picture.

Thanks!
EC-177 has IAT info, for future reference

Its funny because that blue wire in pin6 changes to black/white like the 350z after a junction.

Hal, maybe you can add that onto the haltech page

Thanks guys!

*Note to G35's using wheel speed input: RCdash was kind enough to verify that the G35 wheel speed channels are not coming through on CAN. We are working to fix this asap.
Hal,

Any word on the fix for the G35's wheel speed input issue? BTW - THANKS for all the support you provide for the Haltech units!!!

^ Firmware 1.06.1 is on our Haltech 350Z Support website and includes G35 wheel speed channels.

Yes, my understanding is the problem with CAN integration for all of the EMS systems is that packet IDs are different for different model cars, and much of what has been deciphered for use has been reverse engineered by snooping for data on the CAN bus of various cars. Haltech has the data provided by Hal so I don't understand why they fail to integrate it into each and every release. I'm sure it drives Hal nuts...

EDIT: cross post same time as Hal. Thanks Hal! Happy to test it out. I have a couple e-mails in to you, so I will refrain from sending you another one!

rcdash, you are correct on how it works, and I too am frustrated that they continue to 'forget' to include those channels. Supposedly this branch of code has been adopted now and will be compiled with future firmware releases. I have posted the current firmware (1.06.1) to our website with the inclusion of G35 channels. Also, I have your emails from yesterday and will get back to you asap. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to send.

well at least its added again. i cant wait to get wheel speed/slip vs boost all setup.

Has anyone got that dummy MAF voltage setup yet?

Boost vs front wheel speed is great! You will enjoy it if you have traction issues currently in lower gears.

I have used dummy maf output - it works well. I played with it on an auto car to see effects on shifting. One note, custom maf-out tables disable the ability to run copythrough timing.

Hal,

I need to know the pin for the injector #1 positive lead. Trying to get my Aquamist controller to read these peak and hold injectors...

Thanks!

pretty sure the injectors are negatively pulsed, as all the injectors have a common red wire (if red means positive ). I just soldered in my RC clips yesterday.

but its pin 23 as per page EC-581

They are definitely negatively pulsed but my aquamist HFS-6 needs to read the pulse and it hasn't been working so I wanted to use the actual positive lead going to the injector (rather than just a random battery voltage signal). Greg (from IP) after talking with Hal (who is on the road; thanks guys!) mentioned tapping the harness going out rather than the Haltech harness. I went through the FSM and the injectors actually receive current through a W/L colored wire (on my car) derived from the ignition relay circuit and that also feeds the injectors (and power to the coils, cam solenoids, among others). That wire has a branch that will go through injector #1 and terminate in pin 23 of the ECU harness as str8dum1 points out and is the pulsed ground that completes the circuit. In the Haltech harness you can more easily tap wire A1 (which is what I have/had done).

EDIT: Actually tapping A1 in the Haltech harness (IGNITION +) does NOT work. You need to actually tap the positive line going to the injectors. That is in the driver's side kick panel, fuse #1 drives the injectors. Tap there and the aquamist reads the IDC just fine. This unit is pretty neat - it can read the pulse width from the fuel injector and delivers a proportional amount of spray with offset/corrections from the MAP sensor as needed. The gauge is also very nice - great indicator of actual flow

Hal Boost vs front wheel speed is it now working for 03 350z touring?

Thank you now I can finally play with the speed channels to control boost

Been a long time coming
