That would have been the right thing to do. That is what almost any other customer would have done... Deviation from standard, rationale behavior is bound to raise suspicion regarding your motivation for acting otherwise.

I do not only read this, I have proven it at many events. Have you ever seen a Bentley GT 640hp on slicks run down a Monster Miata?? A almost 6000lbs luxury car lapping a car thats the master of corners???
My point was there are allot of variables to account for and folks that dont have allot of exp. will assume that a miata (even a turbo'ed ) one is slow.I live right next door to Ferrari of washington, so I get invited to allot of their track events. I've seen a fast driver (in a miata) on Summit point Main (Higher speed track) lap an enzo. (not just pass.. but lap.)
I've learned to assume nothing on track, because just when you think a car/driver is slow, you are waving them by...

This drama is being instigated, and Pete I think is just an innocent bystander, being misled by others. Perhaps. He decided to post prematurely before discussing with those involved, and I suspect he had a reason or was encouraged to do so by others...

Case in point...things happen during Racing..Even to Mike and Scott.
http://www.doubledownmotorsports.com/event33008.htm
Seems as if they had a failure at the track also, which consisted of a nasty oil leak which caused them to pack it in for the day.
See, these things happen in racing. Its just a price you pay to play.
