You're probably limited to a 255mm wide tire on the rear.

Hey guys I need help deciding on which wheels to buy for my 2003 6MT Touring in black. I've narrowed it down to Gun Metal MB Battles 18x9.5 +15 vs. Matte Black XXR 968s 18x9 +20.

I know they wouldn't be my first choices but my wheels have so much curb rash from the previous owner and I've found a good deal online for both sets. And any of my first choices would be financially irresponsible. What I would be doing with my car is a daily driver and the occasional fun in big, empty parking lots. Thanks for the help in advance and if there are better choices you think I might've over looked let me know!

I'd get the 9.5s.

I'm leaning towards the gun metal mb battles, it would look great on my black z.

But then someone showed me this...

You'll need wheels that are much wider and with lower offsets than 9.5 +15 with fender work.

I'm aware of that, he wanted 9.5 +15 but it won't look anything like DeeSans? (IIRC) car.

There is an MB wheel thread somewhere on here. Ok wheels for the price, many people have used them for track and drift. Cheap to replace when you bash one.

That isn't my black z. The 18x9.5 +15 was the dimensions of the MBs. But if I get the XXR 968s it would be in a wider dimensions and around 20offset. Thanks for the input guys.

The most aggressive 968 specs in 18s are 10.5 +20. Deesan's car in the rear were 18x12 -3. It will be a 42mm difference, or you'll need a 42mm spacer to get a similar look/stance.

Default Need help picking tire sizes for 18x9.5

I bought a set of wheels that are 18 x 9.5 on all 4. I'm running Tein S tech lowering springs and I want to run the widest tire I can for the front and back to make them flush without having them rub or roll the fenders. I don't want spacers right now either. But I'm completely lost since I'm a noob.

What are the offsets on your wheels?

I’m also running Tein S-Tech springs and have 18x9.5” 15mm offset wheels with 275/40 tires on the rear.

Tein S-Tech springs have a relatively small drop (f/r: 0.6”/0.5”). My rear fenders are not rolled. I haven’t had any rubbing. A 9.5” wheel is not wide and limits your tire width. I wouldn’t go wider than 275mm. You won’t gain anything past this size on a 9.5" wheel.

I have a more conservative setup on the front but there are owners here who have 275/35-18” on the front wheels. 255/40-18" is a good size for the front.

Default double check fit

Decided to get some 18" Gram Lights 57fxx and wanted to double check fitment. I've got a 2007 Z, stock suspension, fenders haven't been rolled. I may upgrade to a Nismo S tune suspension later, but don't plan to drop it any lower than that. This is a daily driver when no salt down, with occasional runs through the cones and down the strip. I want to get as much rubber on the road as I can, keep the ride comfortable, and get as flush as I can without rubbing. Would consider fender roll, if I have to. From what I've read, looks like my best option is 9.5 +25 on front, and 10.5 +20 in rear. Tires probably 255/40 in front and either 275/40 or 275/35 in rear. Sound about right?
Thanks.
