I don't get it either....what are you trying to say with "the bolts are pushing through all of the lugs"??

Are the studs too long causing the OEM (closed end) lug nuts to bottom out and not tighten on the wheel?
If so....look back a few post where I had the same issue. Ordered some open ended lug nuts and that cured my problem.

Other than that, I'm not really sure what you're problem is without a better explanation.

That is what I mean, yes. They tightened them down to the wheel though, but the end caps are pushed out (you can see the bolts coming through the ends). They ordered some longer nuts, but at $4 per nut ($80 more dollars), I dont know if its necessary to switch them out, or just make sure they are always tightened against the wheel.

Not sure if this is a cosmetic thing or safety related, at the end of the day.

^ Are you running OEM lug nuts?

The OEM lug nuts are closed end, I don't see how the studs could be coming out of the ends

Pic....
Notice the ends on the lugs are closed....are these the same as yours??

Yes I am, and you're right, they are closed end... the bolts are literally pushing the ends off.

I'll get a picture up here in an hour or so...

Yeah, would like to see some pics.
What you are describing seems almost impossible unless they were installed with a 3/4" impact. It would take some crazy amount of torque to pop the ends off of those lugs

But from the sound of it you probably need to pick up some new lugs. I went with a set of Muteki SR35 open ended in chrome ($60 shipped: ebay)......they match up nice with my stock rims.

Here is a picture with my iphones macro lens- its pretty close up so you can see the detail... This is one of the more drastic ones though, most of them you can just see the stress of the bolt- but they haven't pushed through.

I'm wondering if they did use an impact gun, I thought you werent supposed to do that with spacers though (unless that is just the spacer lugs, and not the actual wheel lugs).

I'll check out the ebay link too...

Wow, that's f*ckin' crazy!
And yep, I'm sure that was done with an impact and obviously over-torqued since I highly doubt 80 ft-lbs would cause that damage

I don't think I would trust driving around like that since you really don't know if the wheel is torqued to spec. Better safe than sorry and pick up some open ended lugs.

Yeah they already ordered new bolts, I'm not sure if I can wait for the ebay ones (although they are $40 less) to get here, since this is my daily driver. I may just go have them put the new ones on.

Do I need to make sure they dont use an impact gun this time (or is that only for the lugs that connect the spacer to the hub)?

If it makes any difference the ebay dude shipped my order the same day and I got them 48 hours later (USPS priority mail).

And I always tell the dealership/shops....NO IMPACTS.
And make sure they know the correct torque (80 ft-lbs)

Good deal.

So both the lugs that hold on the spacer, and the wheel lug should be at 80 lbs?
I thought it was just the spacer lugs, but figured the shop would know the correct info anyway.

Default Ichiba V2 Wheel spacer install question

Quick question,

Im installing a set if Ichiba v2 15 mm wheel spacers on the rear of my car. The rear wheels are Axis Hiro 19x10.5 +35. Without the spacers the wheel goes on easy and bolts right up. When I installed the spacers with the hubcentric ring, the wheel doesn't want to go on all the way. I tried snuggling it on there but it wont budge. It only goes on about half of the way. I made sure the hubcentric ring was pushed in all the way against the hub. Any suggestions? Should I be installing the spacers without hubcentric rings?

then u probably gotta get wider spacers, i believe 20 or 25mm will sit flush on the hub, so its flush or cut off the length of the stud thats sticking out.

Ah I see. Im not risking trying to force the wheel on by torqing the lugs down or running them without the rings so ill have these up for sale shortly.

are the hub centric rings the right size for center hub? also you might want to put the rings on the wheels first because sometime rust and oxidation will prevent he rings to seat properly.

pictures of what you are talking about would also help.

I saw what it was. Saywhat? was right on the money. The wheel has holes in it for the factory studs but they arent wide enough so I saw where the studs were leaving marks inside of those holes. Looks like my only option is spacers with extended studs replacing the stock ones. Thanks guys!
