^^ I think the "bolt" you refer to is there to prevent mixing front and rear wheels. Take it off if it interferes with mounting your spare.

Since your car has TPMS, you might also have VDC. If you have VDC on your car, be sure to turn this OFF before driving on your spare tire.

It won't work correctly when mounting the under-sized spare tire. That's why you must turn it OFF when running on your spare tire.

Also, I can mount my spare without removing the "bolt." On my car (it's a 2003 Performance model), I only need to align the spare to miss interference from the bolt.

Check your Owners Manual about mounting the spare tire.

Very unusual. The OEM donut should fit front and rear. Photos of the OEM donut mounting surface would be helpful.

Apologies. Been driving the 350Z for 5 years but never used the spanner. Assume that it will remove the bolt.

I have an 04 touring with the donut, and there is a hole between two of the lug holes that fits over that bolt. My spare will only line up one way, but as long as it's lined up, it fits any corner on my car.

nope my spare tire still wont go on. And that little wrench is not the correct size anyways. Lucky my car is in front of my house otherwise id be even more screwed. I think i have the wrong spare tire it has no space at all for that bolt.

Yes (but it's more imperative to turn VDC off when mounting the spare on the rear). The spare is undersized and that interferes with correct VDC/TCS function.
