I have no clue who/where it was secretlty sent from. Let's just say the code name "Deepthroat" comes to mind. (Get yer mind out of the gutter Trav, I'm tawkin' U.S. history here!)

I cannot wait to hold you to this, bud. I also can't wait to see the triple turbo, double super charged 3 valve Mootang (with nitrous on E85).

Like 'em but something wrong with the overhangs or disproportionate front to rear lengths? But whatever, jury's still out on the conjectured new Z for me. Will wait to see the whole package.... style, suspension/handling, engine/trans, etc. So, same as always.... No verdict until I can actually put my hands on one.
I hope the rear 3/4 view has some of the shapely influence like...…
Yes, the views of the Z35 thus far (both semi-official from Nissan and other random concept renderings) have never shown the rear. Talked about 'em..... all seeming to indicate a horizontal arrangement a la Z32. We shall see.
Spleen aside, if production of the Z35 is planned for 2022, the styling and engineering departments must be hard at work NOW. It's unrealistic to expect to see multiple angles of a work-in-progress at this point in time. Wouldn't you love to be a bug in the room on some of those planning and concept meeting right about now?
I dunno..... it seems old already. Then again, who's doing what in the post-Corona area these days? Can you imagine if "the pandemic costs us a new Z".
The roof line needs a bit more curve but over all I like it. There are some S30 styling cues there, it's clean and certainly not fussy in the front like some are, looking at you BMW.
Spoke to my local dealer today to see if they had received any information from Nissan about the new Z. He told me that they had not and didn't have any timetable for when that might happen. I do hope the new Z is competitive horsepower wise. It's going to need to have 375 (if not 400) or more HP in my opinion to be competitive in the market today.

I would think that the car will be lighter and will have higher torque than the 370z. If history is an indicator, the TT Z32 had 300hp/283ft-lbs while the 350z was 287hp/274ft-lbs... I would think the Z35 will be around 325hp / 300ft-lbs and come in around 3200lbs.

I don't think the new Z will be any lighter than the current 370Z since I understand that it is going to be underpinned by a version of the current FM platform. I wouldn't doubt that the twin turbo 3.0 will have more torque than the current NA 3.7, but anything less than 350 hp in the 400Z would be a letdown.

We shall see. With word that the car will be equipped with the VR30DDTT, hope they keep (or increase) the tune of the current Red Sport engine (400hp). If the media is to be believed, this would be the base engine and a Nismo version at some 500 ponies. But honestly.... I doubt it. I'm guessing that if 400hp is the base, Nismo will feature maybe 450 with a chassis buildup.

If it ever gets here.
All just guessing.....
Yes, unfortunately it is all speculation at this point. I wouldn't be surprised at all though to see 400 hp in the non Nismo cars and perhaps up to 450 hp in the Nismo variant. I can't see Nissan going to 500 hp in the Nismo because that's getting too close to GTR territory, but with the way car manufacturers are currently pumping up horsepower numbers one can only hope that would be the case. And I believe a new GTR is in the works as well so I expect it will have more power and perhaps less weight too.
They need to make it comparable in power to the Supra for it to be competitive.
My guess is that Nissan will make the Z's horsepower numbers comparable to the Supra. The new Supra has to be a benchmark for the new Z. And I suspect the Supra horsepower numbers are underrated. That's pretty common with BMW engines.

The 2020 Supra was definitely underrated. It consistently dynoed WAY higher than advertised. Toyota adjusted the numbers for the 2021 version to bring it in line with reality. I think the A91 is a great benchmark for the Z to target, and honestly it's the only benchmark. Mitsu, Mazda, nor Subaru have an answer.

I agree. It reminds me of the early to mid 1990s when the Z and the Supra went head to head. Hopefully the new Z will be just as competitive with the new Supra as it was back then. Maybe Nissan will make the new Z better than the new Supra. And hopefully Nissan will get it right the first year and not have to do what Toyota has done with the 2021 Supra by having to make significant changes to the suspension set up to make the car handle and ride better.
