Default PLEASE! Do this if unhappy with Bose!

I know this is not a new subject, but if you are unhappy with your Bose system in the Touring, please email:support@bose.com and tell them. I did it last week and here is the response I received:

"Hello Richard,

Thank you for contacting us regarding your disappointment with the Bose
Music System in your 2003 Nissan 350Z. The current performance level of
this system does not meet our corporate standards and we are committed to
rectifying the situation.

Please encourage your friends who may be experiencing similar problems to
contact us. We will follow-up with you with more information when a plan
has been finalized.

We apologize for the inconvenience this situation has caused.

Thank you for choosing Bose Corporation.

If enough of us do this, they may fix the problem. I will post what I wrote to them next.

Thanks, Richard

Default Here is what I wrote

Patty,

Hello. I have had a Nissan 350Z Touring since December of 2002. I am
satisfied with the car in all aspects except the Bose stereo system.

I have some Bose 301 speakers in my back room, so I know what kind of sound
I should expect from your company. My parents also have one of your Bose
surround sound systems. I have given your products good reviews in the past
to others looking for good speakers at a reasonable price.

I know that the sound from my car is not up to the Bose standard, espically
for a "premium system". Not only do the speakers not sound good, but the
"audio pilot" system automatically adjusts the volume, as well as the bass
and treble controls.

I am aware that you may have just supplied a system to Nissan per their
specifications, but I would like to inform you that the stereo has your name
on it, and many other Z owners hold your company responsible. If you would
like to view other opinions, please visit
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=16701 . This is just
one of may websites I have seen discuss this problem.

Thank you for your time,
(my info)

Richard

Raw22,

Thanks for the email address for Bose. I sent an email to the address in your message complaining about the flat muddy sound of the system. I told them that the sound quality of the 350Z system is nowhere near as good at that from the Bose system in my Acura. I do not have the Audio Pilot problems you have.

Hopefully this will help us all get a fix.

I also registered my complaint but, I don't expect much. I did this same thing six months ago without any action so far.

How about this instead.

I was stupid for buying your product. Everyone knows that Bose blows in both home and car audio.

I was thinking about just sending them this pic of what's left of my front Bose speakers after I used part of them as spacers for my new speakers.

Patty,
My name is Bill Rippel. I am the owner of Audio Connection in Va. Beach, Va. which we recently signed up as a Bose retailer.

However, my reason for writing is that I am the owner of a Infiniti G35 Coupe. I am satisfied with the car in all aspects except the Bose stereo system.

I have had other vehicles with Bose audio in them (and I sell your products), so I know what kind of sound quality I should expect from your company.

However the sound quality from my Infiniti G35 is simply horrible and certainly not up to the Bose standard, espically for a "premium system". Not only does the system not sound good, but the "automatic level control" that adjusts volume and tonal qualities as ambient sound levels rise, totally ruins the sound even more. Who ever designed the eq circuit for that got it totally incorrect!

I am aware that you may have just designed a system to Infiniti/Nissan per their specifications, but on each speaker and the radio the "Bose" corporate name is displayed prominently. This is something that Bose should NOT be proud of.
The Bose name on the Infiniti G35 AND the Nissan 350Z is a disgrace to your company and a poor marketing situation.

I, and many other G35 and 350Z owners hold your company responsible since Bose designed the acoustic signature of the system.

This is just one of many websites I have seen discuss this problem. These websites are visted by MANY people, and the negative responses in reguards to the Bose name will certainly give your company a poor reputation.

You should contact Infiniti/Nissan and work with them to revise the EQ program in the Bose amp so the sound quality is acceptable.

Thank you for your time,
(my info)

Everyone must understand, the Bose way of designing audio is not to build great speakers or electronics. Just advertise that they do!!!!
They build average equipment, and design in elborate equalization circuits to make it sound better. The Clarion radio in the cars is ok, the speakers are ok (for stock) it is just that the EQ circuit in the Bose amp is half assed.

The amp is a very small (weak) amp that is very stable to low impedence. Bose requires speakers that are 1 ohm. By using that type of speaker, they get more power out of a amp that would only be 10 to 15 watts into normal (4 or 8 ohm) speakers.
What we need is for Bose to redesign the EQ circuit to something more acceptable. I think that is all that we can expect as well.

I am sorry I cannot answer your direct questions regarding the

That is what you call a canned response. If you e-mailed them 100 times they would say this same thing about 95 of those times. They make little changes like putting the model of your car. Believe me when I say this, I've wrote many canned responses in my life.

Here is what a trueful canned response would be.

I know your system sucks but we don't have a clue on how to make it sound better so I guess your ****ed.

Thanks
Blose

Default Bose support response

I'm not happy with the sound either, so I followed everyone's advice and sent a complaint to Bose. We'll see what happens....

I have also sent an e-mail and received the general response. I would like to know how long is a fair time to wait before this problem is resolved? I am sure the 2004 models are almost ready to be produced in the plants, so I would think they will solve the problem before production starts?

Maybe someone should start some sort of lawsuit against bose or Nissan for the crappy system. I think there was a lawsuit going against Nissan for the paint chipping on their cars, why not on the stereo? Truth is they probably won't ever do anything to fix this.

In my neck of the woods - Toronto, Canada - the audio "fix" as
Nissan Canada is referring to it as, is on back order. At least
the problem is being recognized universally by all the powers that
be. When it will be rectified is anyone's guess.

I wouldn't call the tsb a fix. I meant a fix that would make it sound good.
