What does he have to mess with? You didn't just send him the whole folder so he could just copy it over to the sd card bam that's it.

Sounds like you have too many POI. Delete the ones you wont need. Like POI of Alaska or a state you would never go to like Wyoming or something...

Just delete the POIs that you don't need, and it will solve the problem. It worked for me.

I dunno what it is but for some reason the Plenio can't handle all the POI and they do take up memory.

Don't think plenio built there system to be used with OCN8. But the plenio does seem like it's a weak processing unit..

Agreed with quakerroatmeal.

I would like to ask a question regarding the map loading of OCN8 software. For some reason, it takes at least 20min to load map whenever I turn the unit on. I have my antenna installed inside the cluster, below the gauges. I'm not sure this causes the issue.

Thanks guys.

Is it stuck on the loading screen for 20 minutes, or is it hanging when you go to the actual map screen? If it's taking too long on the loading screen, I believe the issue is coming from the sheer amount of POIs (Points of Interest). I was having a similar issue, and ended up deleting all the POI's from states that are not nearby, or that I don't think I will ever drive to ( I doubt I'll ever be in Montana looking for a pizza place). Deleting just a handful of states (not the maps) really improved the loading.

Sorry for not making the question clear.

I don't have any problem with loading screen because I have all the POI's deleted except Texas, Oklahoma, and Lousiana. Ok here is what i did.

- Turned on the unit
- Selected Navigate (Nissan logo loaded, OCN8's main screen loaded)
- Selected Map which is on the bottom

The cursor didn't pickup the signal for the current location until 20min or maybe longer.

i only have POI from three states. I reside in NY and only have POI of NY, NJ and CT. My ocn8 loads up fast and is very responsive and GPS signal is usually at full bar already or takes couple seconds to catch signal.

At first this happened to me. When I tried to turn it on while I was in the garage. I'd drive and it'd pick up in about a minute or so. If I'm parked outside it'll pick up as soon as I hit the map button.

Yeah, if you are indoors it can take a few minutes to pick up a signal. The first time I turned mine on with OCN8 it took about 20 minutes to find the satellites.

The "cannot run navigation program" error is unavoidable, as far as I know, when you are running OCN8 on the Plenio. Just click OK and you'll be fine.

Tap into the back of your cig lighter on the passenger side. Red is positive, black is negative. This is nice because it will power on and off with the car.

For the antenna, just pop off the plastic piece behind the gauge cluster. You'll have to pop off your center console first. There is a little pocket right behind the tach that is perfect for the antenna. This is where I have mine mounted and it works great. Sorry I don't have a picture.

Burner I'm not sure what piece you're talking about. Is there anyway you can provide a picture? You are talking about behind the 3 gauges on top?

Glad I could be of help.

BTW, the errors are inevitable. Keep in mind that with each error, your error log text file gets bigger. Most of us should have the 2 GB memory card with ample amount of free space left (if poi, map, lang, etc were erased). However, as it does fill up the total capacity in increments, you will want to delete these files every once in a while. It's titled "crash" or something to that effect.

It's relatively accurate for most applications, I believe. I took a small trips here and there (no farther than a 80 min drives or so). However, if your area has had recent major road constructions where the layouts change, you'll experience some discrepancies there. Unfortunately, the roads around where I live are full of these new roads, but for most roads you should be fine.
