I have my system up and running out of the car at the moment. THANKS to the people on this board 3hree5ive0ero got me all the software sd card and OCN8 I needed and o2sys got me my cables that I was missing. I also was provided a link to the add on serial GPS. I was able to source one from a ebay vendor who sold the units for $10us. I must admit with out the software and SD card in my unit I have about $70us or so before shipping. I cannot thank you guys enough..
Now I only have to put it in my 03 which I hope to do tomorrow. With all the guides avaiable to me I think I can do it!!!

Looks great, just like mine.
Yea, the lid does shield the screen from the sun, and opens up far enough to not block the screen at all.
Best of all when the lid is closed, the interior looks stock still. That was one of my priorities, and why I never went with a double din/aftermarket HU.
How long does the unit take to boot up? Is there a way to bypass the warning screens and go straight to the navigation screen? I'm sure you can tweek the program (Win CE) to do what ever you want. But i havent been able to bypass this. Everytime it shuts off, it will go to the main screen and i have to click the NAVIGATION icon. Its pretty quick to load.
In one of those folders on the SD card there should be a setting file that tells the unit what each item does and its location. For example, when you click on the game icon, the unit needs to know the path to that software etc, etc. so that it can start it.
When you first boot up the unit, it needs to know what software to load. By default it has been set to load the interface with all the icons (home screen). Go find the file that tells it what to boot up, then change the path of the default menu to the the path of the igo8 software. Therefore each time you boot up the unit, it will load the igo8 software.
By changing the startup program, you will not have access to the game/media player/ etc etc.

I'm looking into to add a DVD player to the back and using my PA11-NIS for sound to my factory HU. What do you think about this one? Not looking for a fancy dvd player, just something can read dvd.

Not sure if the answer to this has been posted. You can tell the GPS unit to boot straight into the navigation software (igo8) in this case without having to go through the Menu > Navigation.

Yes but this cant be accessed through the SD card. That is the problem here. Is all about command and prompt. You would have to play with the Plenio's registry but I dunno how to connect the Plenio to the computer. You can't use the USB port, no drivers exist.

i'm going to be removing mine soon. Its making too much plastic noise. The fitment is very tight so now with the cold weather it is rattling. I'm going to sand as much as i can from the plenio's frame so it can fit smoothly.
Hopefully this will also fix the lid not opening all way w/o assistance.
