Poor sound system?
I just bought a used 2003 Nissan 350z and was not impressed by the bose speaker system. After a while I realized that it did not sound so great because the rear speakers were not working. The subwoofer is working fine, but the is no sound from the rear speakers. I have a Pioneer DVD deck, any suggestions? Thanks.
Go to the Audio sub forum and search through old threads. You will see that a lot of people feel the rear speakers are worthless anyway. If the back ones are blown you might want to look into putting component ones in the doors and calling it a day.
Either they are blown, or there is a connection missing somewhere. A small wire may have popped out of the wiring harness. That's usually the case if there is absolutely no sound coming from the speaker.
If you have a Bose system and a non-Bose H/U, it’s likely that you have an adapter to allow the Pioneer H/U to work with the Bose components. The Bose setup sounds poor at best, and often sounds even worse when connected to a non-Bose H/U.
The rear speakers aren’t working because either they were connected incorrectly or not at all when the Pioneer H/U was installed. A possible explanation is the adapter connects 4 speakers total, or 2 speakers plus a SubW; or the installer simply decided not to connect the rear speakers (they are pretty bad).
You will need to pull the H/U to discover how the replacement is wired.

EDIT: Even if you get the rear speakers working, you won't be impressed with the sound from an OEM Bose setup.
