Thnx Mike, but the plan is to purchase new stub axles, so I am not freaking out yet, as I still have time before my 1st race @ Road Atlanta June 15-17..

I will see if they can send me pics...

I appreciate your concern. !!

Please post pics of the stubs , also look at my thread about the stub shafts slipping out. You can see the machine work that needed to be performed. Pretty simple and cheaper than buying stubs.

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...-pull-out.html just a quick and easy cut from being able to accept a snap ring like the other one.

terrasmak...I think we have 2 separate problems...

My issue is that the axles will not slide completely into the WaveTrac diff...so the clips don't even com into play...the stub axles are too long...they are hitting something inside the Diff...

I was reading the NASA Spec Z rules pertaining to interior modification, and it seems like weight reduction is allowed up until section 18.2j that states
"j) Other than to provide for the installation of required safety equipment or other authorized modifications, no other driver/passenger compartment alterations or gutting is permitted."
Soooo does this mean you cant remove all the plastic asthetic stuff in the cabin or not? Im confused. Anyone know what the official standing is on this?

Laze, I bet it was just an issue of shaving/trimming down the stub axles, much like the Quaife requires you to do as well:

https://my350z.com/forum/engine-and-...tub-axles.html

The Wavetrac picture just looks like a shortened version of an OEM stub axle aka base model open diff stub.

Yup, it seems like yours needed to be cut for the c clips and the length shaved down to the VLSD short stub length.

The C-clips are fine, that is not the problem...the length of the axle is the problem

you need Qty of 2x VLSD short "un-modified" Axles and it fits perfectly!

3 sets almost ready for SpecZ (six 9s and six 10s). Just need to get the silver ones painted black, then get the rest of the tires mounted up.

So, you are the one who scarfed up all the 18x9 RPF1s in the entire world???

Question: What offsets are you running?

Nissan Motorsports just announced a bonus contingency payment for any NASA Spec Z races in June and July. No matter the number of entries or finishing position, Spec Z racers are eligible to make an additional $100 above and beyond the usual contingency.
