Finishing the body work, made some space for the wheels and room for the coilovers because it was a very tight fit..... and in the process 8.3kg of metal is gone I wanted to do more cutting on the rear fenders but the fiber glass extensions for the rear are just half on the rear wings and to make other parts it's just not time.....
Finally after some days of cutting, grinding, welding...loaded the chassi, the fiberglass parts and went to a man who works with composite parts because the parts don't fit 100% and it just doesn't work like this....I know is a race car but it has to be done right
It's frustrating because this stage is time consuming but has to be done and finished with cutting, welding and grinding because after this the chassi goes straight to paint and if I miss something now.....I will f*** the paint....
it seems the Z33 might be going the way of the E30/E36/E46. The activity may be quiet on this forum but there are lots of solo and team efforts out there doing this.
Will you be campaigning this car in a limited spec or an unlimited weight ratio spec? because with all the work going into this car, I can't imagine a VQ engine in it afterward. and with this amount of chassis mods, it probably won't be suitable as a spec racer. so, unlimited? then put whatever engine you want... like a 3.8 TT?
Yes unlimited but also I can go to endurance racing in GT and GTPro and also hillclimb has an unlimited class.
I have also plans for the future with this car and If I will swap the engine is going to be the VR30DDTT Is light and compact
More parts for the car came
Weldable Quick release
Aluminium seat mount because weight reduction
Seat belts 2'' to be able to use the Hans
Carbon helmet because saftey is a priority
The chassi is also finished ,some modifications were needed but now it fits The guy was able to use the metal sheet from the roof to make a copy from fiberglass Now that it is finished I send it to paint
