Actually. Your Best Bet Is Studying Post #9 Very Carefully.
Just Be Sure Your Angle Isnt Longer Than 3.5 Inches.
THE ALUMINUM IS CHEAP SO IF YOU MAKE ONE AND ITS NOT TO PAR? YOU CAN CUT YOURSELF ANOTHER PIECE. BUT WITH THE DIMENSIONS GIVEN AND CLOSE STUDY OF YOUR HOOD BOLT HOLES AND AREA OF INSTALLATION YOU CAN SEE IT MAKES SENSE QUITE EASILY.
PM ME IF YOU NEED MORE HELP AND I CAN GIVE YOU MY CELL.

trust me you will do fine. just cut that aluminum piece and then use the holes on the hood to mark then drill the holes on your angle.
mount the angle by itself first and test the open and closing of the hood. make sure the corner of the angle does NOT touch the battery cover. if so then grind/round down the corner a bit.
it gets close!
its good to have someone help you open and close the hood while your peaking in from the side to ensure the angle doesn't hit the battery cover.

So I made a few brackets but didn't like the look of them, I wanted something looking a bit more OEM, Then I thought of something...
Whats stopping anyone from modifying the hood hinges and using those as the studs mounting point? I bought a new set of hinges to test it out with but my thinking is to cut off the little squigly part that comes off the hinge and mounting the ball stud to that part of the hood hinge. If I need more metal than what would be there from just cutting it right off I'll straighten it a bit then cut it off.
Has anyone tried this before I butcher the hinges?

HI,
FITHAMOTO INSTALLED THESE SHOCKS AT MY PLACE THE OTHER DAY.
NAPA P/N 819-5563 - I BELIEVE THEY ARE 25LB FORCE/LOAD RATING.
HE'S GONNA ADD SOME PIC'S WHEN HE GETS A CHANCE.
THE HOOD DOESNT FLY UP ON ITS OWN - YOU HAVE TO SORTA HELP IT UP, BUT IT STAYS UP NO PROBLEM. AS LIGHT WEIGHT AND FRAGILE THAT CF HOODS ARE.......I DONT THINK YOU WOULD WANT A FORCE RATING THAT WOULD MAKE A CF HOOD FLY UP............

okay so I live in Canada. The 45lb struts at NAPA here are $45/each! Anyone in Canada know where I can get them cheaper?
At that price I'm better off just buying a kit.
thanks to anyone who knows!
