i also noticed the throttle actually noticably cuts out over big rough bumps. Maybe its the new clutch idk. I think ive experienced this to a much smaller degree in other cars. The headlights flutter too
so wait a min, this is once i have adjustable arms right? because from what others are saying, im assuming without the arms only toe or something is adjustable. regardless, its likely i will get the regular alignment still before the special one. Because, I think we are still a few months out on all the suspension parts, install, and specialty alignment shop bill.. Unless, i get another loan lol
There is a camber bolt on the rear subframe which give a little adjustment.

The throttle shouldn't ever just cut out. Are the headlights aftermarket HID's?

Im not sure, they probably are aftermarket because they are bluish colored light. They are not real bright though. they do need a restoration as well.
Yeah its purely from being jammed around hard on horrible bumps. the throttle doesnt normally cut out, and its only for that split second when it does.
I think you have the 03-05 OEM HID reflector projector headlights. The blue color is either aftermarket HID bulbs or that's what they look like on warm-up. The output is probably garbage since the lenses are yellow and hazy. A good polish should improve things dramatically.
If the throttle cuts out and the headlights blink over large bumps, it sounds to me like a loose power/battery connection.

probably aftermarket bulbs, since they look quite blue no matter what. Thanks for the info about battery. ill have my shop mess with it. I have an oem tie down installed now, but they didnt mess with the terminals. i have new terminals, so maybe that will fix it. It kind of sucks one is mushroomed at the top from friend beating on it. I hope i dont need a new battery to fix it properly
Ditch those ricer blue bulbs and get some proper HID bulbs with the correct color temperature in there. OEM is 4300K. Anything higher than 5000K actually decreases useable light output. 5000K is a pure white. I definitely would not go higher than 6000K. Hit up TRS (thereteofitsource.com) for some Morimoto replacements. Stock size is D2R, but you can use D2S in there since the notches at the base of the bulbs are compatible.
After that, get one of those cheap headlight refinishing kits from 3M. It will be a world of difference.
This thread is entertaining. I just killed almost 40 minutes reading through it at work. Good way to kill the last hour of work since its super slow right now. Anyway first on the list should be suspension, brand new tires and alignment. Stop wasting money on used tires man.
as an update, the car is going to the shop again. This time, just valve cover gasket and motor mounts. Im looking at suspension parts, thats next obviously. I care so much about the suspension, i may go overboard. If i dont, i may upgrade it twice, and just suck it up, and pay for specialty alignment twice.
Anyways im wondering how different you expect these two products to be. SPL rear knuckle monoball bushings vs. dayton one rear knuckle spherical bushings. The second is almost half the price. It looks similar. SPL has a fancy sales pitch on z1 saying its suitable for street, because it self cleans. If the dayton one brand does too, and theyre practically the same, id buy dayton one. If the spl one is truly alot better, maybe i should stick with it. sales pitches below.
SPL: Our bushings feature bearings with an injection molded slot-loaded liner that cannot "pound out" when dirt gets on the bearing ball, providing a self cleaning and self lubricating bearing that is suitable for street use. Highly precise (machined to 1/1000th inch) CNC machined T6061 aluminum bearing shell for proper fit.
Dayton One 350z spherical bushings feature FK racing bearings with a self lubricating Teflon liner for long life and maximum performance. Highly precise CNC machined T6061 aluminum bearing shells provide an accurate press fit.
Made in the USA in small batches in the heart of Dayton Ohio.
SPL doesn't need an introduction, they use FK bearings and are the best out there. You get what you pay for, want cheap, get polyurethane.
ok, im not sure i want cheap. the only reason i was considering the dayton one, is if its possibly the same quality, at the cheaper rate. it sounds nice too but maybe not lol.
If the Daytona One is made in the USA with FK bearings, try them out. Sounds like a quality piece. They may be new and that's why I've never heard of them.

Im thinking about it. Everybody else here is yelling spl, but this sounds and looks so similar. Plus theres 8 of those, and it will save me just over 300 bucks. I never want to sacrifice quality, but this is kind of a gamble. I may not ever notice a difference.
my shop was slightly worried about my valve cover coming with grommets for some kind of valve cover bolt or something? Idk im having them order the part and they seem to be worried they can get all the parts. We will see where this leads, im sure we will figure something out. its not the pcv valve grommet, its something different. Hopefully, they are just tripping out, and it comes with the oem valve covers

only other thing the valve covers should come with is the gasket. PCV is already on there.
huh, hopefully they can just figure it out. i will call them tommorow, and ask for update. he showed me a picture of some gold bolt looking things. and said the price is so cheap, he doesnt think it comes with the black rubber grommets. He showed me a pic of those for another vehicle. He said it was the bolt for the valve cover i think, and worried about the grommets.
with all of that said, they havent seen the part yet or anything. maybe they just dont understand something, but will figure it out.
Edit: I called and asked, talked to the owner instead. He said it should be fine and come with everything. So, false alarm. Idk why they always do that to me and get me worried about nothing lol.
My engine mounts are on, and they had to take the headers off to get to the mounts. theyre putting it back together, and doing my valve covers today.

whew! the bill was more than i thought it would be. It sounds like they had extra trouble with the motor mounts. My friend told me i should have just done gaskets not valve covers too. ohh well its done. They may have to wait a week on some of it, or i may have to borrow money from someone.
I never had the coolant flushed. I thought it was leaking, but i guess it can fluctuate. It definitely had alot of sediment in bottom. I had them flush it today. i also had an oem upper and lower hose, that i bought when freaking out about false leak.
