Homemade Catch Can

I'm stock, aside from a popcharger and plenum spacer, and I get oil in my PCV catch can. I have a secondary one for the valve cover and intake on the driver's side, and haven't noticed any oil in that one yet. It's only been on for 500 miles, but then again I didn't expect a lot of oil deposit on that side.
So an answer to your question would be that it won't be the be all and end all that you have one on your stock motor, but if you do, it will just run cleaner and a bit more efficiently.

So is it safe to pour the condensed oil back into your engine? I installed one in my MX-6 and have a nice pool in the bottom after just 2 weeks, go figure hah. If I can pour this oil back into my engine, hopefully I won't have to keep buying quarts of oil between changes.
I was hoping with purchasing a new car (Z) I would be past the days of topping up my oil, but from all the reading I have done basically every Z motor burns oil . Maybe I will just buy an RSX instead...n't!

You used the same catch can as me. What did you do about the black valve on the bottom? I didn't realize it when I bought mine but it has a sping loaded valve that opens on the bottom to drain any moisture/grit whenever the system is not under pressure. Therefore everytime you shut your car off the oil will drain out the bottom. Myself I removed the cheap plastic valve from the bowl and tapped it with a 1/4 thread and put in a heavy duty ball valve. Works like a charm.

Whats up fellas, I just went FI (turbonetics), my car is having trouble burning oil so Im going to go out and get a hold of these parts. The passenger side is pretty much straight forward. But Im a little confused about the drivers side, is it necessary? I can't stress the amount of time I spend on this forum and the help it has given me throughout the years...
Thanks again everyone.

well neither are necessary but both help... your drivers side gets oil in the system as well and takes it to your intake or charge side, it's usually not as much oil though... if you don't want a catch can on the drivers side you can also put a breather filter on the drivers side....

I got the passenger side hooked up. But which hose do I do this too on the drivers side? Any closeup pics would be appreciated.
