The only consideration you may want to think about it labor. If you are eventually going to do it, it's best to do it all at once.

For the VB, you need to drain all your ATF out.

For the TC, you need to drain out all your ATF and take down your whole transmission.

Goose did but he had some problem with UTEC, as far as I know Julian will be doing the final Tune this coming Sat. I think with the new pipes too.

I dont think so but I haven't spoken to him in days. I think I'll just have Julian do my IC and maybe switch to Test Pipe as well. What TP did you get and how about the smell?

Sorry for the radio silence guys. I have tons on my plate this past week.

In any case, my heat wrapping is on. The entirety of the y-pipe (except for the braided sections) and the entirety of the mid-pipe (except for the sub-muffler) are wrapped. I can tell you with confidence that this wrap is doing its job as a heat barrier. Qualitatively, I would say that almost 80-90% of the radiant heat is being kept in the exhaust pipes. My center console area (which is entirely dismantled and bare because of an audio install) no longer BURNS WITH RISING HEAT like it did before.

Next up is the center piping. Matt and I had to tinker with it a bit, but all the new piping was installed at MRC this past Saturday. The mounts are all solid, and the pipes do not hit any of the walls under the car. No rattling at all. I am much happier that I don't need to worry my ***** off about scraping or denting the pipes anymore.

And that bring us to where I am now. The new piping and the exhaust wrap have completely messed up all my tuning. When Julian and I took it out for a first drive, it was spiking up to 12psi on my 5 and 8psi maps. It was also knocking like crazy. I am very thankful I did not grenade my motor. I have been driving the car in vacuum since Saturday, and will return to MRC tomorrow to have everything re-tuned. Being the case, I have obviously not been able to evaluate what the new piping and exhaust wrap have done to help performance. By the end of tomorrow, I should be able to provide you guys with dynos, and we'll see if any of this made a difference.

Good old Thermo-Tec heat wrap. I first used the Gen II copper-coated wrap, but after awhile the copper falls off and becomes just like the Gen I wrap. Good stuff.

That is some good Chit Goose, now you're making me do the heat wrap sooner than later hahaha, I think I'll just stick with my IC first and see if that improve the pressure drop before doing something else

Now what we are all waiting for is if this thing help you spool a littler quicker

I started out with 2 rolls. Now I am down to 2/3rds of a roll. So I guess 1 and 1/3rds rolls were used. What you need A LOT of is snap straps. Buy 3 boxes. You need more long straps than short straps.

Well, it's doing SOMETHING. Hopefully it's doing something good.

Julian is tuning the vehicle now.

I'll let Goose give the final review but based on his email that he's making more power now (at 4.5psi map).. I know it is still premature coz Julian is still tuning it though

This # game and all this Mod is making me horny.... Now I can't wait to have my FMIC install and do some heat wrapping and slap some TP while am at it

Has there been any mention of STS doing testing on an '07 Z by any chance? I think this setup on an 07 VQHR would be insane.....

Got some news... some of which I don't really want to disclose... I'll let the people in the headlines present the info when they're ready.

But the news I WILL offer is about the intercooler. The new one is pretty much in effect, I'll be waiting approx. 3 weeks for that to finalize before they ship out my kit

After some talk, I've decided on the upgraded 60-1 turbo. Hopefully headers, test pipes (already have) and full exhaust wrap will counteract lag, and an 11.75 psi spring.
