when i got my GT2871R from atpturbo.com they recomended me a 0.9mm oil restrictor, and from what i know the old turbos need a 1mm to 2mm restrictor, and the new turbos ball-bearings ones need a 1mm oil restrictor

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...o_tech101.html

Garrett ball bearing turbochargers require less oil than journal bearing turbos. Therefore an oil inlet restrictor is recommended if you have oil pressure over about 60 psig. The oil outlet should be plumbed to the oil pan above the oil level (for wet sump systems). Since the oil drain is gravity fed, it is important that the oil outlet points downward, and that the drain tube does not become horizontal or go “uphill” at any point.
the main idea is to adjust the size of the restrictor in such a way that you will not exceed the max oil pressure supported by the turbo

I hear ya man, but the Greddy Turbos are supposed to be "bullet proof". Not to many people, in fact, no one I know has ever 'over-fed' a Greddy with too much oil. That is a rare problem. I do know that there are a few folks on this board that have utilized Oil restrictors on other brands of turbos that were getting too much oil. But not Greddy's. I've put that out there already and asked a number of installers/tuners here on this forum. It is an absolute rarity, but thanks for the info.

MANNN!!!!! You Neeesaaawn guys are tough on each other. I'm so used to the Honda world - throw together a 1.8 liter OVERNIGHT and dyno next day with similar HP results you are showing.

I don't think I will be going FI w/ my Z anytime soon haha.

Goodluck!

No worries. 500 miles into the break in of my new motor. Once I get to 1000 or so, apart it goes, and in with the TT and my new EMS.
So far, so good. No issues.

What happened to your post Julian?
Anyway. Thanks for your helping my sidekick Boogie Yesterday. It didn't take him very long to test out your handy work and get pulled over by the PoPo.
I am anxiously awaiting his feedback on your tune. But from the sounds of it he is very happy. Thanks for the help.

As far as my car...I dropped it off at Turbo Trix yesterday. They are gonna need it for about a week. When they're done, it should be damn n ear perfect. I'll let you know how it worked out.
Thanks.

Good luck this time around
Randy, were all hoping for the best!! Ill post up "boogies" dyno in a few..
PS not a bad job on the install, the only problem we found was the water line for the turbo, you had routed right over the Throttle Body wires and the Stainless Steel line acted like a saw and cut throught the TB wires and shorted the TB out after 30 dyno pulls.. Other than that, nice install!!

Thanks. The water lines job was Boogie's handywork. He got the water lines at home and decided to DIY. But glad it all worked out. Obviously, if I saw the car before he got to you, I would have made sure that was not the case... But thanks for the compliments. Nice work tuning on your behalf.
I told him not to expect anything big in terms of hp numbers because I didn't want him to be disappointed. I told him between 350-380 tops.

But WOW! about 410 at stock Turbonetics boost (8psi I think). Very Impressive. Looking forward to the thread. BTW, if you need install pics to spice up the thread, let me know I have them all. Clutch and turbo install.

As far as my car, I'll let you know when I get it back. Keeping my fingers crossed.

LOL, he blamed you for the water line..Now the truth comes out...
Here is the thread, I told him he needs the 550cc injectors, he is going lean up top...There is also a weird boost creep issue after 5000 rpms..
Here is the thread.

Randy, when you pull the motor for the TT install, that would be a great time to re-torque those headstuds
