I emailed hal about tuning the 1st week of February. I would do it in jan, but the only weekend we could do it, they are leaving town. Still waiting for a reply. Being the holidays, I expect a delay to get back to me. Car seems just as bad as before, except a little more up top, lol I'm hoping he can squeeze everything that this blower is capable of out.

Also I'll prolly pm old man to get one of his braces. I seen 21 psi, if we can push the car harder, I don't want to miss out because of bracket flex or slip.

I have, but at this point, I don't want to dump any more money into it. Pretty sure my fuel setup would be maxed if I went e85. I have been thinking about doing a 50/50 with race gas and 93. Im just happy to be able to drive it around and not be so damn slow, lol. February can't get here fast enough.

That makes sense, since they aren't all the same size.

yes, every turbine/compressor wheel must be high speed balanced. instead of adding weight like on your car wheel, they most of the time remove

Little update. Got everything on and car is running great with the previous tune. Still scheduled for feb 5th tune date at dynosty. Still hitting 21psi at 7k. Car pulls hard. Afr Is in and around 10.8 at redline. Little rich, but that will be adjusted.

Now ive been thinking about bringing a 2.75 pulley with me and see what it can do, but im certain I will be getting slip and revving a little higher. So now im throwing around the idea of running a 34/28 cog setup. With this, it spins the blower slightly higher than a 2.75. I need to research but what are some of the other guys running their blowers up to?

Right now im spinning to 61,500=21psi
With the 2.75 at 7k I should be around 64,200
With the 2.87 and 34/28 at 7k I should be around 65,400

I was really wanting to rev higher than 7k, but don't want to run more of a risk of hurting the new blower..Should I try to spin it higher and see if it will make power past the 26psi that vortech says that is the limit? Im only 5psi shy of it right now.

For anyone running the 34/28 setup, did you need to change to a different belt size or make any other adjustments? This question mostly directed at oldman since I read this is what he is running..

I needed to switch to a Gates 544 8mgt 21 polychain belt to run a 34/28 setup, but I have a revup vortech kit and I'm not sure if the belt size applies to the standard DE Vortech kits...

Also to minimize belt slip, you'll probably want to run the 34/28 with the 2.87...the bigger the jackshaft pulley the less slip, and of course you get no slip wiith the cog pulleys...

That being said, I did manage to run a 34/28 setup with the 2.75 with no slip, thanks to Oldman's TIMROD assembly, and an extremely tight belt, with an ATI crank pulley....

I have an old type SC Trim Standard blower rated @ 1000cfm.
Stock Crank Pulley, 34/28 Cog and a 2.87 Serp. and rev to 7100rpm, Blower to 62,355rpm.

For the 34/28 cog stock belt works fine.

The Vortech V2 Ti-Trim is an HD Stout Blower, very tough ,rated @ 1400cfm and 26psi.

If your making 21psi IMO you should be closer to 600whp or more. See Colombos Post.

You must have a larger diameter crank pulley, right?

Yes the crank pulley is the fluid dampr. Pretty sure it's 6.12 where the belt rides.

Yes, that's right.

Have you ad your car on the dyno with the Ti-Trim?

Feb 4 is my retune at dynosty.. I will be taking the car back to Cin after the tune to get actual gains from their dyno since that was the last dyno I used.. I'm just wondering how high I can spin this blower up.

Well I've be spinning mine to 62355rpm for a long time with many hard runs on it, and it's a standard, not an HD, like I said. But spinning them up that hi has caused belt slip problems for most everyone.

I think you will have belt slip and be sorry you did not have the Radius Rod installed. To go to all that work, with a New Bigger Blower and dyno time and end up with belt slip is a pain in the ***. And on top of that, not being able to reach your goal. I hope you don't and all works out well for you.
