Default Another pop charger question!!!

Hey guys i was reading about the pop charger and how it makes some Z's stall, i especially read about the guy that was doing 90 on the freeway and after reading that it scared the crap out of me but i also wondered if his car was A/T or M/T ... does that make a difference with the car stalling after the pop charger has been installed?

let me help you, the popcharger is an air filter with a heat sheild, it does not cause stalling issues. Its an air filter. Buy it and put it on and get some cool noises.

I'm starting to understand why ppl get SO frustrated when noobs don't search. Too bad there isn't an auto-lock feature for threads like this. IBTL

It's obvious that 1) you didn't read the Top 100 Questions just like the OP didn't. 2) you don't know what you're talking about because it's a very common problem with Popchargers.

no its not a comon problem because its an air filter it does not affect the engine in any way, the problem is when people who have no experience install it and either mess with the mass air sensor or throttle body.

WAIT.. i figured it out... i figured out why u are claiming JWT popcharger is causing stalling.. compared to other intake systems

YES.. it is COLOR of the filter!! the blue is causing the stalling.. just change the filter and piping and your engine management problems will go away..

how come nobody thought of this before

Good thing im a mechanic, or else i would never figured out the color is causing the problems..

i love people who know nothing about cars

Yeah, I have to agree with Dave and 2004Black350Z. The only time my Z stalled, was when I wanted to test this "problem" out. WOT, then put it in neutral and allowed it to drop the RPMs=Stall. That is with a clean MAF too before anyone says this is the problem and my filter was not over oiled.

Why don't you try this out Bones. If you car doesn't do it, well, then it is one of the Zs that does not have this problem. It does happen and it is common with the Z. Not sure why. Just do a simple search...much like the OP should have.

Noob, please stop while you still can.

It IS a relatively common problem. Just because it hasn't happened to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen at all. Consider yourself one of the lucky ones.

Here's a little history lesson for you...
