Anyone interested in a new custom intake for the DE motor?

I got a report that the car fired up today with the new intake. Of course it's been a blizzard of snow up here on and off the last week or so, it's going to be tricky getting the car 4 hours away to a dyno.

Slowly but surely this engineering project is wrapping up.

Trying to decide if we're going to build the direct port setup for it before or after the dyno session...

If it makes power N/A then I think he will.

Hmmm... looks like the rear cylinders would be starved for air. That neck bend is so asymmetrical and severe on the DE motors - hard to fix with any design but looks like a solid attempt. GL!

Thumbs up

Just IMHO, I was thinking a manifold that had a center throttle body inlet would be more beneficial, something like this perhaps:

I'm not seeing the rear cylinders starving, but I have a little bit of a question about velocity. The collector area looks like it may cause a bottleneck depending on the interior wall and horns setup. But, aside from that looks like a great prototype.

The Fontana guys used what I think is the best design for outright peak figures.

That's pretty crazy! Did that one make any N/A power?? Thanks for posting.

I like this design for the aspect of performance, but this would cover the oil fill and force you to relocate the throttle body coolant lines, PCV tube and TB wiring.

The goal for this manifold is to create power and make as little modification to the engine compartment as possible.

awfully hard to tell if something is starved for air by looking at it

a flow bench and a manometer are absolutely necessary

This is what I was thinking too. I like the idea
