Well I drove the car for the first time today with the port work and the bigger TB. My AF changed from 12.7 at WOT to 14.4 at WOT. Time for some tuning work, I know something is different with this setup. Now time for the new inlet tube to get built, and get the MASS changed from 65mm to 80mm before I really start playing with the tune.

Len, you should have your own build/progress thread here (unless I missed it?) like what some of the other track guys are doing. Sorry for going OT.

I may do that while the car sits for a year.

With my results so far, there is defiantly power to be made. Only problem with a dyno proven run, most people have different mods. Longtubes, vs shorties vs OEM manifolds , plenums, spacers , and even cams will make a huge difference in how well the TB works.

Just in case anyone was wondering, the connector is the EXACT same as the one on the maf sensor on the 2003-2006 350z. If you delete the maf you can reuse it on your TB.

Yes its the same connector . But the MAF has 5 wires. while the TB is 6. so you would have to add the missing wire.

I sell just the TB/Maf pigtail if someone wants to wire it up.

just went and checked, you are right about the MAF. Kinda sucks. Would take 6 of them to make 5.

Ill be splicing mine in. I have the other connector to make the patch harness. The coil pack harness on the passenger side has the M/F versions of the TB plug.

At 6 wires its not hard to splice.

^i have 2 entire spare engine harnesses that I have torn apart. 1 is mostly whole.

The maf sensor plug mates up to the hitachi Maxima TB. Problem is that is only 5 wires and a spare slot for the 6th wire. So to use it you need 2 maf connectors so you can scavenge a terminal.

Also if you do not want to do a true splice and to create a patch harness instead you can use one of the connectors with the male pins that is part of the passenger side coil pack extension harness (has 2 coil packs and cam pos solenoid). Cut it off, mate to maf sensor plug and viola! your own patch harness.

yeah you can do that.

I sell the pnp harness, and just the TB pigtail. So either way someone can get the 75mm working.

cux350z, don't forget that for the 6th pin, you can also look at other connectors of the same series. I want to say that the cam sensors are 3-pin versions of the MAFS/TB connector, so the terminal would work. Don't quote me on that; I'm not in the garage right now. Don't forget to trim the key on the coilpack harness connector.

I did what what he (^) did by scavenging connectors, but only because I have a friend who is an Infiniti tech and could get these parts for free. The TB connector was actually a factory pigtail and had all 6 wires. Otherwise I would have gladly paid the extra few bucks to SurraTT and not had to deal with it.

There's already dyno proof that a larger TB gains on our cars..

I believe the debate in this thread is about if the kit that is being sold creates gains without tuning as advertised

+1 and without any other mods to the intake tract (so no port/polish, no larger intakes, etc)

^^ Meh, I know myself and a lot of others aren't lightly modded. So gains on an otherwise stock engine is moot.

But understand the argument is over NWP's stock gains. Good luck

I could swear the gains they show were not on a bone stock car either.

I think the car had a cone filter and/or exhaust. Doubt if anyone is completely stock on this forum especially if looking for a performance mod.
