TPS sytem

TPS sytem
Two questions:
1) How are the TPS valves (if that is the right word) mounted on the rims?
2) How difficult is it to remove them & place in new rims? How much skill is needed to get it done right?
( No, I did not search; yes, I'll do better next time)

Heres a very good thread that might help you out. Theres a how to link regarding sensor mounting for aftermarket wheels in there.

The valve stem is part of the sensor. It threads through the hole in the wheel and a nut on the outside holds it in place.
They are relatively simple to remove and replace, although it can be a little tricky finding a socket than will fit in the tight space. Just make sure you keep track of which wheel you remove it from so it goes back on the same corner of the car, otherwise you have to get the dealer to recalibrate them.
Getting some new wheels????

Appreciate the replies. Exactly on point.
Yes, Dave, I think so. Outfit in LA chromes OEM rims. So original look, which I like, but with bling bling!! LOL!

Have you seen this thread?

Especially from post 36 down. Apparently there have been problems with OEM wheels being chromed/re-chromed by aftermarket services. You might want to check that out carefully before jumping into the chrome bath with your stockers.

Thanks soooooooooooooo much, Dave. I noted the thread but had not read it.
There goes that idea. Can't believe I've owned the Z for 5 tears, decide to go chrome, & this issue pops up at the same time. I almost ordered the wheels last week but did not have an installer lined up. I must be living right!!
Special thanks, Dave.
