Official Aggressive Wheels & Fat Tires Thread
I would not go any closer the the damper in the rear than mine are! My wheel contacted my damper at around -2.2 camber going through dips. My pictures are with no weight on the suspension and the wheel gets MUCH closer to the damper when compressed. I have about 10mm clearance at my ride height and I'm sure it comes very close as it compresses. Get spacers and pull the crap out of your fenders.
Fellas, iv'e notice that were mostly the fat tire group so i made a FB page that will have all tire, ALL THE TIME! Feel free to post up your rides and share.

To answer your question about the 12 inch wide wheel, I am running an 18x11 +30 in the rear and here is a pic of my inner clearance:

Even though it looks like there is lots of room my wheel just contacted my damper at about -2.8 camber when going through a dip. Had to reduce my camber. To run a 12 inch wide wheel you will need a bit of camber if you have any kind of fat tire on your car.
A 12 inch wide wheel has the same inner clearance as you can see in my pic above at +17.
Run a higher offset at your own risk, mine contacted my damper.
At that offset your wheel will be poking for sure, my recommendation to you is to just run an 11 inch with wheel if you want to run fat tires. 12 inch wheels are for hellaflush setups on the Z.

Uh oh, I might be in trouble then... I based most of my calculations on your picture that appeared to show plenty of clearance. There was a 10.5 +43 shown earlier in this thread that is 7mm closer to the shock than yours, but maybe not as cambered. Too late to go back now, so it looks like I'll be the guinea pig. I'll try to take similar pics to yours with different spacers while under load as I test fit.

I drove better on Sunday. I cleared the rest of the class by over a second. The other good thing about the event that had me nervous.....was that I was only going 94-95.5 db all weekend.
Good to hear. What suspension did you end up running? You'll like the Motes a lot, but seems you didn't need them anyway! I had the same (sound) concern with the track Z, but I went through at 92-94dB all weekend; the greenZ has turned 103-104dB before, so I'll need to be careful when I do the exhaust swap.
I ran the motons on soft springs and no rear bar. The spring collar that came with them is a 2.5" not a 2.25" like every other set of motons I have ever heard of (probably because of the spec nismo springs). So I didn't have any other 2.5" springs around at the time.

Off subject but what coil overs do you guys like? I did have a set of Tein Comfort Sports with EDFC ordered but guess they are discontinued. Thoughts on the MonoFlex or Tanabe Pro-Fives w/ TEAS? I want damper control within the cab and I'm not looking for the stiffest ride or lowest lowering capability.
EDIT: Forgot to add that I have the HRE 19x9.5 +20 & 19x11 +25 w/ Toyo R888 265/30 & 305/30 coming my way.

Got my rims coming in and need a little advice on the tire sizes to get.
rims are
19x9.5 +20 front
19x11 +18 rear
I'm lowered on tanabe gf210's and fenders are rolled. Was thinking of this tire setup
255/35/19 fronts
295/30/19 rears
Any advice if I will have trouble with my rears rubbing or should I go with a 285/35/19 for the rear and keep the 255/35/19 front? Open to suggestions here.
