Default ground in trunk/spare well

Hi guys, i can't seem to find a suitable ground for my amplifier (4guage) in the trunk/wheel well. Does anyone have any recommendations. I tried some of the bolts there and scraped the paint yet the connectivity is still pretty bad. Any advice would help. I searched and i don't get relavent posts.

hey guys, another thing. so i'm using my Rockford Fosgate p5002 2 channel amplifier, except i'm only using one of the channels to power my single 10 inch woofer, at 2 ohms 250watts rms. I have a 4ohm DVC infinity subwoofer, which i wired properly for 2ohms at 1 channel. Only problem is, that when the gain is at under 50%, i get no pounding at all. I have to turn the gain past 50% to make it loud, which is what i don't understand. the frequency is set to 70-80 hertz, and the head unit has the subwoofer signal on full. any ideas?

for every intsall i do, i make the ground cable as sort as possible, to a solid part of the floor, scrape away the paint and secure it as secure as possible.

what kind of HU are you running?
