RevUp Oil Consumption TSB and discussion
#2381
I'm very surprised to hear recent comments on the V1 still being used on 6mt's.
Do these dealers not know how to read engine numbers on TSB's?
Glad to hear at least they owned up to their cluster screw ups, but Dang...what an additional pain and inconvenience for the owners.
Bad enough when some V2's still burn oil.

well spoke to a lawyer about the lemon law for whoch i didn;t know much about. guide lines were some thing like this
4 repair attempts failed
<18,000miles
in my case this is going to be the first repair and i have 13000miles. by the time we replace 4 engines i'll be well over 18000 miles, so i dont think lemon law will cover me however he was saing something about getting money for all the trouble.

nevermind. Got this from a lemon law site.
There is a common misconception concerning the Lemon Law, that it only applies to vehicles that are less than 18 months old or have less than 18,000 miles. This belief is not true! The Lemon Law will apply to a vehicle regardless of how old it is or how many miles is has, so long as the vehicle is having problems that are under warranty.
Even if the warranty has expired, the Lemon Law may apply. If the vehicle is still having problems that were complained about and never properly repaired during the warranty period, a valid Lemon Law claim may exist.

thats actually a good thing. If you do lemon your car you would only pay the mileage for 3000 miles. Te percentage is based on the mileage where you brought the car in for the problem.

First oil level check after new long block...
Greetings,
Results of my first oil level check:
Status:
(1) So Far So Good – Still Pending
Oil Consumption: 2 to 3 mm
Engine Install Date: 1/09/08 at 14930 miles
Engine part number: 10102-AZ7MZ
Mileage on Engine: currently 1080 miles
Mileage on current oil change interval: 1080 miles
Oil Type/Brand/Weight: dlr dino oil
As I previously posted, the oil level was 10mm low when I checked it a few days after the repair. It was 12 or 13mm low when I brought it in so the dealer called it as being 1/2 quart low. Thankfully, that is wrong. I was only an 1/8 quart low. That extrapolates to a little over 3/8 quart every 3500 miles. I should be so lucky that that holds true.
They did top it up to exactly on the full mark this time. I was told to have it re-checked at the next oil service. I will, of course, be monitoring it every weekend until then. Gosh, I sure do love that dipstick design! I am improving my "bad word" vocabulary every weekend!
Later, Joe

^ Thanks Joe, Got it recorded on the Stats List.
I have sent out PM's to the rest of the folks on the current list and new members to the list, since the respnse has been "So Far So Good - Still Pending"
I hoped to post it up tonight, but it will have to be Tuesday.

Hah, and get this. After receiving my 3rd engine back from Nissan yesterday, i drive home... as im exiting my engine stalls in N. I crank it, it dont crank, finally cranks so i start driving to a safe spot, it stalls again. Now i have to push my 3500 lb car uphill with a friend of mine to a good spot. It doesnt crank after that, it'll slightly start and stall right away. All with 13 miles on my new engine... its currently at the dealer right now..
