need help/advice for v3 setup
i am new to posting and to my350, so i am hoping y'all can help. No need to bash just provide useful knowledge or insight to help a fellow member.
i have a 03 track model 350 so non rev up with about 115k miles (most of them hwy miles due to commute about 30miles a day). Car is very well taken care of and never had 1 mechanical issue.
it has been driven with just CAI, hi flow cats, borla exhaust and there was plenum spacer installed a while back.I finally wanted to get into something quicker so decided to go FI rather than buy a new car as i love my z.
i bought a v3sci tuner kit, dw600, intank walboro fuel pump, 1 step colder ngk plugs, an oil cooler and catch can, long tube headers to get rid of cats also have full set of gauges including wideband a/f. I will be using uprev osiris to tune.
i bought the 2.87 pulley to upgrade right away as i want to be over 400whp but really no more than 500.
with the supporting mods i have, and the state of the car being a DD and my goals in mind, is there anything else i need to get/do to accomplish and have a well built and functional Z.
(fyi- vortech said i need to machine the pulley to get it fit the jackshaft, is this true? do i need a smaller belt to run the smaller pulley, and if so what size? the dyno shop in AZ said i should 100% replace the rods, pistons, and bearings since they have seen many z's (DE) fail right on the dyno going over 380whp... is this true, and if so can anyone suggest what to replace with?)
Thanks again for the help!

I have similar setup (here is my build https://my350z.com/forum/forced-indu...n-03-350z.html), with 3.12 pulley pushing 427 Whp and 370 torque. I think 2.87 will bring you close to 450 and 400 torque which is too much for the DE engine. If you want to do it right the first time - build your motor, especially with 115K miles on it. For the 500 whp you can go with Eagle or K1 rods and Wiseco pistons. Everything you need is here on this forum was posted many times, tons of different builds, so use search.

Thank you for the insight. I dont want to go that high and think that right now i may just swap out the pulley and run somehting like your set up and then when the motor goes due the rebuild then... i know its a matter of opinion (build now or later). So if i dont want to build the motor now, i can run the 3.12 pulley with what i have not replace the internals and get over 400 correct?

You can run any pulley with your stock internals but nobody can tell you when your engine will give up. You have to be ready it will give up sooner or later and no matter what pulley you are running. I know mine won't last long because i am pushing it, so I am building an engine right now.
