Official STS Rear Mount Turbo Discussion Thread
Well just got my momentum performance transmission mount in the mail today just in time before i take the z out to the drag 1/4 mile runs come the 10th of march. I will still be on street tires and no launch control setup yet. so my 60 ft will probably not change lol.. just want to see what my trap speed will be and time of course. So much wheel hop off the dig.
So is it the sts kit that restricts the z from making more power or is it the fact it's remote mount. I just got my z running on Saturday with a built motor and a custom remote mount that I fabbed up w some parts from a sts truck kit. I haven't finished my fuel system yet so I haven't driven it. Am I gonna be sorry I did this setup?
Well i have a stage 1 engine from ipp, for brain a haltech platinum and sts turbo kit for my z and love it i don't think it is restrictive i mean i could probably go alot more higher but want reliability. When i build the top end of my engine then i might turn up the boost.
thats wat im talkn about rawley.
If i see someone get 475-500+rwhp outta a STS. i may go that route.
I just dont want to pour 5grand into building a bottom end, for 400hp. leaning towards twins, atm. Do you think theres more potential in your setup? STS sounds like, so awesome.

you can take the filter shield off along with that intake tube with the rediculous 90 degree bend, attach the air filter and filter shield directly to the turbo. you just need to drill another drain hole in the sheild. this will also raise the hieght of the filter a little.

[QUOTE=athenG;9652472]I was thinking of that but I was hesitant because the filter is going to be now to close to the exhaust pipe. I just tied the shield to the frame so now it doesnt rattle

just go to autozone or whoever and get a smaller filter, many filter options are available. thats what i did. also the new position makes checking and changing or cleaning a snap!
