if yah want people talking about it again then stick a t6 turbo back there, otherwise the kit isnt really impressive.

why put a t6 back there beside it being half the price of the a t4 turbo? I'm currently looking at twin charging my z through the winter.

half the price???? uhhhh i wouldnt trust any t6 like that every single one ive seen is much more expensive, and you would run it because the turbos are bigger and will make more power...........
1991ls13: sure it will be great for a dd as long as you never go into boost. if you want 500 then dont dd it or have a backup car, if you have a stock block set aside enough to replace every piece of your system because at that power level its not a IF its a WHEN are you going to grenade it. unless of course you do it for a dyno run, it survives, and then it never sees boost again.

^ of course the motor will be rebuilt first to handle the extra power. Just from what i read its hard to get much power over the 400-420 mark out of these for some reason....Just people talking ***** or is it something real and to do with where its placed etc.....

People that use the sts rear mount kits usually don't build their engines so they are limited to 400ish hp due to the block exploding.

If it was put on a built block there would be many limiting factors. They have small intercoolers, they use tiny charge pipes which restricts flow, and they have a small crappy turbo. Proper charge pipe size, larger intercooler and a better turbo would easily make more power.

amen.

why waste money on a kit that you will instantly have to replace stuff on in order to meet your goals?

without a doubt if your looking for a budget option sasha's basic kit with a JB 6266 is about the same price and ALOT better in every aspect.

my first post was just mentioning that no one is really going to care unless you stick a t6 in there because a rear mount is pretty much only option for a t6 without very extensive work to the body of the car.

i'm currently with a stage one ipp longblock with amm stage basic return system. I'm at 407 whp and 396 tq at 9.5 to 10 psi. CP is 8.8:1. I recently got my hands on a stillen supercharger for a few hundred dollars just need to piece together a stage 3 kit. So yes i am in the process of twin charging the z through the winter. I wonder how this will come out lol.. i know one of the guys on here has the same setup i'm pretty much copying his setup really but only difference is he is still stock block and my bottom end is built.

Just make sure you have a decent enough turbo to put down power. It would be pointless to twin charge something and use a tiny turbo that can't provide the large power.

well i will be about the same as topgunz 350z he has a youtube video under twin charged z. Only difference is i have built block and am running a haltech pro ecu with 600 cc injector. still on the to do list is buy aam fuel rail, aeromotive fuel pump, and piece together a stage 3 kit i have pretty much a stage 1 right now so i have all winter to do more research and get things ready. i'm in no hurry to do this build seeing as i haven't have the z boost for more than a year now but has seen about 8k - 10k miles now on the turbo kit and built engine. So far no issues with both at all and running fine. The current turbo i am running is one of sts brand journal bearing turbo's they said it was slightly bigger than a gt35 so i'm about that same size turbo as topgunz 350z except his is a actual gt35r.

Rawley_12003 is confused. Its not MY youtube video and I dont have the same setup. He is thinking of Super Z's setup. Who is in Afghan. He is running the stage 3 w/ STS. Im on stage 1 except intercooled and PL.

Yeah, Really wish i had the built engine in so i could just turn that boost controller up and slap on the 8lb pulley. I think she would be a monster.

yeah it will be awhile till i get the z on the dyno with the stillen supercharger kit, i finally got a hold of stillen just now and talked to somebody that actually has customer service skills and help me so i should be expecting a pdf file for the parts listing for the supercharger kit stage to for non revup hopefully. if everything goes as planned i should have the z pushing out some fresh numbers hopefully by the end of march with some 80 degree out door temp to make it reasonable for daily driven.

congrats... I was also about to start modding again last spring until i found out my wife was pregnant. I was looking for a slightly used TT kit or a new BP kit and I was about to pull the trigger then my wife told me she's pregnant. I ended up using the money for the Evoque.

update on the heat wrap: I did heatwrap my charge pipe and i removed it after a couple of weeks.. did some logging and noticed that my boost came later about 200rpm and i noticed that my BOV sounded different. Before I hear a nice compress air coming out and it's pretty pronounce but after the heat wrap, the BOV didnt sound it was letting out a lot of air. Not sure why but in theory the lag should be less because the hot air should travel faster and the FMIC should do the trick to cool it down. oh, well
